Re: Holding your breath: a measure of lung health?

Shape, I sent that PM to you because you haven't been posting and we were all worried about you because of the STDs. Happy to see here in spite of all that.

I say my lady friend because "girlfriend" isn't appropriate. We look like your grandparents.

Re: My State Has Gone Full Fucking Clownship

We have no reported cases in my town (7000) or county (16,000). Gallatin has 16, 10 of which are in Bozeman, four of which are designated communal transport. Lots of folks drive over the pass for work everyday. It's a comin'. Yup. Luckily, it's taken a while to reach us. We are expecting it and mor...

Re: My State Has Gone Full Fucking Clownship

They closed down Yellowstone National Park and adjoining Teton National Park. The idea is that those of us who live in places adjoining the Parks do not need infected folks coming through, perhaps spreading the disease. That's important where I live. We have no reported cases in my town (7000) or co...

Re: Holding your breath: a measure of lung health?

Of course, you mean whale-ish in the context of a great and powerful swimmer. Luke: I don't know if near drowning damages the lungs. Googling only seems to turn up what happens on the spot and nothing on long term damage. As for holding my breath, I think nearly 3 minutes is good and should indicate...

Holding your breath: a measure of lung health?

My lady friend said she was worried about me being at risk for COVID-19 due to decreased lung capacity. As you might recall, I drowned five years ago. Of course, as a guy, I said, "bullshit. My lungs are fine." So she challenged me to hold my breath. I did for just short of three minutes. This, I kn...

Re: COVID-FIT: Survive the Chinese AIDS

I just started up my trail walking and bodyweight stuff again after a long lay off. It feels good to feel my body get back into some kind of shape and the work has improved my mood.

That last is what I think is what could help insulate me from infection. A good mood and a positive attitude.

Yes. Gav has insight and experience we are likely to have in two or three weeks. Talking with Gav is like looking into the future.

So, Gav, anything you see the US not doing that needs to be done?

Re: Alright MOFOs, let's get constructive

As a guy who has malaria. I can say it sucks. About half a million people a year die from it. Mostly kids under 5. Mostly in Africa. South Asia a close second. My point to Turd was that we in the US don't suffer from it. He asked if a few bald eagles were worth so many deaths. CDC says there are alm...

From the CDC:
Approximately 1,500 malaria cases and five deaths are reported in the United States annually, mostly in returned travelers.

Re: Seeahill: once more into the fray

Jason, Thanks. I was on Search and Rescue here for several years. I know just where the money should go. Spells, I appreciate the caution. It's going well so far. I'm not starving myself and taking the occasional day off from most training. (I walk every day, either a little or a lot. But never less...

Yeah, well, the due date is still July 31.

Starting weight: 243.8

Today's weight: 236

That's a loss of 78 pounds.

Klonopin? I had a bout with anxiety and took it for several months. Then I didn't need it anymore and stopped taking it. Easy. I never even thought about it.

Well, I suppose all people are different, but to go to Russia and put yourself into a coma?

This doesn't pass the smell test.

Re: Seeahill: once more into the fray

I will accept the challenge. Thank you for that very generous bit of motivation. I started my program on March 1 at weighing in at 243.8. My goal was 215, a pretty good walking around weight for me. But I'll take my goal weight to 210. That's a loss of almost 34 pounds. So that's 34 weeks which is j...
