Re: The Dallas Diaries

Seems like i had trouble logging here and gave up for a bit. I have stayed consistent with running, getting back to some lifting and taking a recovery class at the gym 2 days a week that involves some yoga, foam rolling and stretching. It's been good. This morning 2 mile run - 10:38avg Lots of walki...

Re: The Dallas Diaries

8/19 Ran my 3rd Falmouth 7 Mile race. Hit my goal: 1:19:19 (Goal sub 1:20) Pacing was very even most of the run - 4th mile fastest with 10:47. I actually ended up with 7.26 miles in distance and pace was 8:41 for the last 1/4 mile as I pushed to make sure I hit my goal. I felt really good about this...

Re: The Dallas Diaries

Had problems logging workouts here. Think i figured it out. Traveled to OK for a few days and ran/walked there. Hitting the gym a couple of times a week. Focus lately has been on run/walk intervals due to the temps, but it is a bit cooler this week. Saturday 4 Miles - Run 3 min/Walk 1 min - 11:36 av...

Re: Another look at 80/20 principle

Interesting. I haven't really thought about it like that in terms of work but I can definitely relate. I work in IT dept for a large company. IT is seen as a cost center a necessary evil by people in the business units (Sales, Marketing, Network ect). So much so that the business units will often hi...

Re: Exercise May Aid in Weight Loss

Right I couldn't find the words, and wondered if it was a subconscious thing. But, that in some way captures the essence of what I've been feeling the last few months especially as I've been able to do more unbroken running and faster(for me) paces.

Re: Exercise May Aid in Weight Loss

Very interesting observations. I think most people would agree that exercise will always take a back seat to moderating calories. Also, most resistance exercise, even really intense stuff like GS, just doesn't demand that many calories and anyway can't be maintained for long enough to make much dif...

Re: Exercise May Aid in Weight Loss

Yep - I often forget I'm carrying a backpack to work - probably closer to 5kg. I'm also usually running late, so the walk isn't leisurely most days. It's usually 30 min depending on the traffic lights The other thing is my usual morning walk to work is right after the run (with a quick shower before...

Re: Exercise May Aid in Weight Loss

I think based on my experience there is something to that. 30 min really isn't that much especially for those of us who sit at a desk all day. A little background and I'm sure I've stated it on other thread (Sorry), In 2014, I finally had enough of being very obese. My starting weight was 220+lbs an...

Monday (7/9)

2 Mile Run

10:32

This might be my fastest 2 mile time at least since I've been an adult. I'm optimistic that if I keep after it, that I could go sub 20 without issue in cooler weather although temps weren't quite as warm as they are after 8am.
