Re: Dempsey Book

I know it's been a bunch of years since this thread was active. But all the links are dead, anyone have a new link, or would be able to upload the pdf.

Re: Only God Forgives

Only God Forgives was an awesome movie. I get why a lot of people hated it. Some people were expecting "Drive 2" and it wasn't like that. It was almost a mix of Lynch and Kubrick in some ways. I watched it twice, the first time I was like "wtf" and the second time I appreciated it a lot more. The ma...

Re: The Road to 100 Pushups

Day 3 (120 seconds rest between sets) Set 1: 4 pushups Set 2: 5 pushups Set 3: 4 pushups Set 4: 4 pushups Set 5: 5 pushups (calls for a max effort and says to do at least 5) Weird that I kinda died after the first rep or two on the 5th set. That 5th rep was a struggle. Im going to do "Week 1" again ...

Re: The Road to 100 Pushups

In all honesty, that's not where I see it going. But there's a little voice in the back of my head telling me trying work up to a reasonable volume of pushups at my current bodyweight may not be the best thing. I've already decided that I'm gonna repeat the weekly schedules so instead of just follow...

I'm also thinking about incorporating some of Sonnon's compensations from Forward Pressure.

Re: The Road to 100 Pushups

I did this and made a lot of progress but never quite hit 100 (90+/- IIRC) - and it took longer than 6 weeks. Good form is great but if you're like me, going slow after you get some volume isn't going to work out so well. A "brisk" pace worked best for me FWIW. Thanks for the input. Im looking over...

The Road to 100 Pushups

I've always sucked at pushups, so for fun im trying out this program: http://hundredpushups.com/ Its a M, W, F program. And is supposed to get you to 100 pushups in 6 weeks. Just did my initial pushup test. I did 5 pushups. I tried to go slow, get my chest down low each rep and have good form. Still...

In all seriousness, if you feet swell u from gaining weight or whatever, wouldn't you shoe size only get wider and not longer?

Re: Qigong/Tai Chi for Regular Guys

Silly question, but when it comes to doing something for time, i.e. in Cotter's Nine Little Heaven demo he says when you center the qi you hold that position for around 5 minutes. When you are just holding a posture, and staying relaxed etc, how are you supposed to know when 5 minutes has passed? I ...

Re: gf2k5's log

BJJ class this morning. First time back in class in 2.5 weeks (out with injured ankle, and wrist , from a heel hook and practicing wrist locks respectively). Felt ok. We went over some standing self-defense head lock stuff, then went over two basic standing guard passes. Did some "flow" rolling, giv...

gf2k5's log

Felt like making a log: Today: 1) Intu-Flow - Beginner Level (Neck through to the Ankles), didn't do the waves, spinal rocks quad hop stuff 2) Muscle Balance Function (MBF) "Menu 1" - got this awhile ago, but never really did it consistently and wasn't sure it was worth the dough for subsequent menu...

Maybe I exagerrated a bit, when i said he had a tick, he just stutters sometimes (which I still found a bit distracting, much more so than people who say Baret Yoshida is really nervous in front of the camera and constantly clears his throat) I was rewatching last night, it's actuallly not that diso...

Nope only the first volume

Unfortunately I do not, I've heard good things about the volume that I'm selling which is why i initially bought it. Apparently there is a volume of the "street guard section" is good (one poster at nhbgear.com always mentions it). My three complaints for the one dvd i own are: 1) its a bit disorgan...
