Re: Redbelt

Nah, that is a little extreme. Redbelt should be a more serious fight movie.
Bas Rutten did the training for that movie though.

Redbelt

Anyone else think this looks like a good movie? David Mamet has done some great stuff in the past, hope this lives up to his reputation. The trailers and clips that I have seen look interesting enough for me to spend the $7 to see this movie.
Thoughts???/

Not complete commercial free but the commercials are usually less than 2min each break with about 4 -5 breaks for a 2 hour movie.

Re: What is worth watching on Cable?

I pay the extra every month just to keep all of the Military, Discover, and History channels. I watch a lot of the real estate shows. AMC always has good movies on at some point during the day. I have recorded, The Logest Day, The Karate Kid, Apollo 13, Hunt for Red October, and Die Hard on AMC in j...

Re: Ezekiel Bread

Just the plain old EZ bread is the shiznit for toast, sammies, all of it. It has been about the only kind of bread that I have eaten over the past few years. We also buy this really good 12 grain organic bread that is even more hearty than the EZ bread. I think it is Nature Farms or some thing like ...

Re: Man Up -> The new BJJ Log

1/4/08 - YRG, 24's, Yoga(stretching) Started out with YRG 20min workout. Legs were sore as hell so I ended up taking a knee on the lunging stuff. Since my legs were already sore I decided to punish them more by doing the 24's that we have been doing in BJJ class. 24 Hindu Squats, 24 Squat Jumps, 24/...

Re: Man Up -> The new BJJ Log

1/3/08 Hit BJJ class today instead of the YRG which I may still do this evening. After warm ups we started technique on escaping mount. We covered similar stuff before Christmas break but with Gi. This class was no Gi so we worked on sweeps from the escape. The first and second are similar but one i...

Re: Shapebaby's 40 Days and other adventures...

Shape, please do post your training logs. If nothing else, it is motivation for others to get up and do something. One of my goals this year is to do a better job of keeping track of my training with BJJ and all. Already started a composition journal to keep training notes in. I like the 40 day thin...

So, the mat has been closed since Friday the 22nd. No chokes and no arm bars make Ken a angry boy. Still no Jits until Thursday January 3rd. Re: Sweeney Todd

I think people see Tim Burton and believe that this is going to be a feel good kinda movie. I for one am excited to see it but will probably wait on the DVD. Going to the movies is not all it used to be when I was a kid. I prefer the Mitsubishi, a dark room, and a beer with my movies now.

Down with them both. I stopped going to the Home Depot in Allen because the people were rude when you could find someone to help you. The store was a complete mess and no one seemed to care and pick things up. When I moved to my current location, the nearest Home Depot is in Wylie. This store is abo...

Re: Man Up -> The new BJJ Log

Monday BJJ After warm up we worked on a few drills from side control transition and then on to working technique. We covered a mount escape but instead of pushing the leg out and shrimping to guard, you trap the leg and drag it across to pull the leg through and then finish on the opposite side and ...
