Re: So are we gonna talk about GoT or what?

I originally gave "The Long Night" a C- But after a few days I revised it to an F Obviously the shit looked epic, but having the Dothraki snuffed out via a moronic strategy for a gorgeous cinematic and then two episodes later having them wreaking havoc with NO explanation as to how they survived is ...

Season 8 was a pile of poo, if you agree and you haven't seen this video:

But if you liked it, that's cool too. No big deal.

Thanks Bram, the quote actually jives with what I was trying, unsuccessfully to describe. Mahalo for the info.
That's been an area of confusion for me for years - what IS a plyo. Appreciate you bringing it up because I didn't know what the correct term was and had to get to searching.

Re: Phil Daru/Daru Strong

I thought box jumps are not an example of plyometrics; that's just jumping. Plyometrics have to have an element of rebound, i.e., you jump and then jump again with the absolute minimum of contact with the ground. No? I always step down when I box jump, but I'm trying to keep my joints around. But I...

Re: Phil Daru/Daru Strong

I see your point on plyo's. Although I will use some variations for conditioning, like medicine ball slams, I also use some purely for explosiveness, such as a box jump.

If technique isn't compromised, do you find fault in using a medicine ball slam for example in a complex with other exercises?

Re: Working Out, Surfing and Meditating

April 12th-April 27th Experimented with some different training ideas: 1) doing high-volume, stabilizer-only days, mixed in with high-volume strength or speed days.... 2) and high-volume stabilizer and strength days..... They both sucked. Have recently settled for moderate volume strength or speed ...

Re: Phil Daru/Daru Strong

Not a huge fan of plyometrics except in very limited and specific application. Strength training needs to be very specific to your goals. And by that I mean The Whole program not just the specific exercises. Never forget carryover is usually very overrated. Can you go into more detail on the above?...

Information goes a long ways. If you believe or suspect that the yelling you've been doing is extremely counter-productive, then you can look for other solutions. I don't need more pain-in-the-ass family members :) So I passed the info on to a couple choice people. Haha, maybe they'll yell at me ove...

Another one that comes to mind is telling yourself that you love what you're doing. In college I was an abysmally shitty cyclist, but I read an article by Marco Pantani, the famed hill climber in the Tour de France about how he got so skilled at hills. https://s-i.huffpost.com/gen/1819759/thumbs/o-L...

I dunno, I'm originally just here to workout and maybe share or checkout cool shit. "The Dawn Wall" was a good film, "Lost Cit...
