Re: Jesup Power Bar Barbell

I believe "whip" refers to the flexibility of the bar. Power lifting bars tend to be stiffer. Oly bars are more flexible and have more whip. Not sure that it has much of a difference with the light-ass weights I'm using.

Re: Jesup Power Bar Barbell

In the past couple of weeks have ordered some bumpers for my bar from Jesup. Quick service and ship time. Nice people on the phone. Don't really have much to say about the bumpers as I've nothing to compare them too, but I feel good giving these people my business.

Buddha's Brain

Good read from a neuroscience perspective of meditation and buddhism. If you're interested in the physiological aspects of meditation and how it affects the nervous system and the brain this is well worth reading.

Re: Innov-8 X-Talon 212 trail running shoe

Looking to order a pair of F-Lite 203's fron Zapatos. How to these fit, true to size, big, or small? Thans in advance. The pair I replaced were 10.5 but Zappo's only had 11. They fit well enough, but I usually wear 10.5 in most shoes. You might want to contact Inov8's customer service. They've been...

Re: Innov-8 X-Talon 212 trail running shoe

Just got my second pair of Inov8 Roclite 295's. Great trail runners and day hikers. Hope to try them out with a light pack on an overnight sometime this summer.

the new Skruf Xtra Stark == WIN Is this the stuff in the white can with red writing? I tried their regular and extra sterk. Both were good. Wanted the flavor to last a little longer. I've lost the taste for the general onyx. I almost think you can taste the black pouches. Been digging the general o...

Jesup Power Bar Barbell

http://www.jesupgym.com/products.php?cid=12 I know a bunch of guys here have experience with this bar and have had positive experiences with it so I thought I'd start a product review thread on it. The bar was recommended to me on Power and Bulk by a few of the guys. I'm clearly not elite or pushing...

Placed an order through GetSnus.com after reading this thread. I tried Northerner but there was a technical issue when I ordered. Got a portion sampler with general regular portion, general onyx, general extra sterk, general white, and roda lacker. I like the onyx and general sterk the most. I had b...

Re: Convict Conditioning by Paul "Coach" Wade

Just got this today. I'm surprised at all of the good reviews it's gotten. The progressions are nothing special. Book in a nutshell: 1. 90% marketing and bwe superiority hubris. 2. use bwe exercise to get strong not for endurance. 3. 6 exercises: pushup, pullup, squat, bridge, leg raise, handstand p...

Very cool. Thanks for the links. As someone that sports 12" I can tell you that there are many occasions when it's too small. This probably goes without saying but if you are a writer or doing research that requires having multiple documents open side by side a small screen sucks. As a second c...

Re: Good Calorie Bad Calorie by GAry Taubes

I had a gift card sitting in my wallet so I picked this up today. After doing some reading this morning on a cultfit related site I decided to try a 30 day challenge of no sugar and refined carbs. This should help motivate me. Other than the calories don't count thing which has been worked to death ...

Re: Dance of Shiva with Andrey Lappa

Greystuff I have Lappa's yoga DVD, but the duration of that session is about 2 hours. I know myself well enough to realise I will never be able to commit to such serious practice. How long does the SHiva Dance last? Can you do it as the sole yoga practice? Smet, I have no idea how long the whole pr...

Re: Dance of Shiva with Andrey Lappa

Rasas are special flavors of devotional service in Hindu thinking, so they are subdivisions of bhakti--devotion to God. There are many rasas, beginning with aisvarya-rasa (reverential devotion), and ascending all the way to madhurya-rasa (intimate love affair with God), such as symbolized by the un...
