Re: Brief praise of jogging

Running is fun, I’m not surprised you enjoy it. JME, but the adaptation from not running at all to running can be pretty unpleasant, which is why it's handy to follow a decent beginner's program for the first couple months. What feel like relatively minor changes in pace can change a run from easy ...

Re: Brief praise of jogging

get your cadence up over 170 total footfalls/minute and everything will fall into place. This was extremely effective today. Easier to pace breathing at that rate and HR was several BPM lower. Thanks for heads up. I'm on a treadmill because it's December in Chicago, so keeping the feet under hips i...

Re: Trump vs. ???

Watching woke Twitter lose their minds today that everybody at the next debate is white has been a little tedious. Trump disagrees with you on Biden. If Trump thought Biden was a laydown he wouldn't have had reason to solicit interference from Ukraine. I think that Trump is physically incapable of ...

Brief praise of jogging

This is one of those things that I always hear the benefit of but generally don' t do, since when I ran in my teens/20's as part of other stuff it didn't seem to do much. As part of generally focusing on overall health, I started the C25K running program. It's a progressive run/jog program that lead...

Re: IR Sauna

Was expecting a link to a Brandi Love flick but this is interesting. I can't install anything in my apt but I could get one of the portable saunas. Does anyone have any thoughts on those little tent-type ones? I have been tempted to build something with a frame and fabric setup that could be adjust...

Re: What to make of the election?

Ken Starr said as recently as yesterday there was no proof of a crime.

Today:
Ken Starr, lead prosecutor in Clinton impeachment hearings: “There is now proof that the President (Trump) committed the crime of bribery...This has been one of those bombshell days.”

Re: What to make of the election?

Sondland is testifying Trump directed him, it was a quid pro quo, and everybody knew it.

Leftist pinkos like Lindsay Graham and Fox & Friends said last month this would be very bad.

There are a health-related benefits to IR sauna with scientific support, it's just that detoxification isn't one.

I think, "detoxification" as a benefit of perspiration is generally deemed conventional wisdom.
It is, but it's wrong.

Re: IR Sauna

Yeah the health benefits seem to boil down to "The heart doesn't care how it gets elevated." The IR ones make intensity a little more difficult to understand where the "heat" limits are, and I've never actually used one. OTOH, they're more energy efficient, less expensive, and no need to mitigate hu...

Dolemite Is My Name

Pretty awesome. I was only superficially aware of who Rudy Ray Moore was before the movie, which helped. Legit LOL funny at times. Eddie Murphy killed it. Wesley Snipes surprisingly good.

Re: What to make of the election?

I'm talking about Clinton insinuating the Russians want Tulsi to run as a 3rd party candidate as some scheme to hurt the eventual Democratic nominee. That makes no sense to me because Tulsi would pull more of the independents that would ordinarily lean Trump but would jump at the opportunity to vot...
