Not as good a night's sleep last night, so a slower pace today. About a 9:40. Nice and easy.

I can only imagine. I know I've gone from training to working out (and often barely) over the time my wife has been sick.

My daughter (four) and I will basically practice movement. She thinks it's funny when I do a front or back roll. We'll do a little tumbling, a little boxing, a little yoga, and a LOT of wrestling around. She also likes picking up and holding dumbbells and medicine balls, and will occasionally try an...

Re: Goals for 2017

I built to doing sets of 150 when I was a teenager. From my experience, push-ups respond well to density training with submax sets. If you can do a solid 50, four sets of 30 with gradually decreasing rest periods until you bang it out in one long set should be about right.

It’s a simple pattern, make some big polarizing claim(cardio kills), throw in a bit of sciency sounding stuff and perhaps cite a research study or two, and with enough enthusiasm and you have a flock of willing folks spreading your message. I see a lot of registered practitioners now doing exactly ...

Run most days, building to about 20 miles a week with a weekly long run of around 10K (currently running about 15 a week with my long run a little over 4.5 miles). Sane barbell work three days a week. It's been on maintenance as I've been building up the running, but I'm hoping to put the running on...

Catchers definitely spend the most time in a deep squat, but I think most would say that centerfielders and shortstops tend to be the fittest and most athletic.

I had backed off the rowing and pullups for a couple of weeks along with doing some rehab stuff I found on the internets e.g. using that therabar Blade posted earlier, and things where pretty good. Of course, once the sleep deprivation ends, the willpower (perceived willpower? whatever) increases as you learn to triage out the shit that doesn't matter and focus on the shit that does.

We've got two of the Tuft and Needles, and I've got nothing but good things to say about the mattresses or the company. Seriously contemplating replacing the mattress on our guest bed with another Tuft and Needle. Rest is pleasantly firm, and I'll second the sleep quality.

So Trump tells a rally that if Hillary is elected, she will gut your gun rights. "By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks," he said. Re: Longer rests between sets to limit hypertrophy (Tactical Barbell bro logic?)

But I'm curious about the logic of resting to limit hypertrophy. I've never heard that from strength trainers. I know bodybuilders limit rest for the pump, but they aren't lifting at the same percentages of their max so they can do another set with a shorter rest period. This probably stems from th...

Full thing was very good; apparently the filmmakers had thought of the potential for the formula to wear out its welcome, as the season was only six episodes long. I'd watch a second season.
