Re: Random Things I've Been Adding

It started off as random, but its progressed into regulars now. I purchased the hook system from Shen with his strands and iso strap along with a bull worker classic and steel bow. They have become my main assistance work at this point. Honestly, they could really be my main work but I love the old ...

Re: thanks

MeatPlow! What's up, man?! hey brother. Just training and maintaining. Got my Purple belt awhile back and trying to fit into its shoes. Been doing some decent lifting having modified a lot of things due to scrapping injuries. Been doing a lot of work with bands and bull workers recently. Hit a pret...

Re: Ideas for "20 Years of Pavel Tsatsouline" series

problem for me with Pavels stuff is that I don't want to lift frequently. If I had to lift 5-6 days per week I'd quit it for good. When I was younger and I was obsessed with lifting I'd be all in for the higher frequency and after a bit it would get old and I'd be back to the typical 3 days per week...

Re: Chris Haeuter DVDs

Cool man. I'm glad you like them. Basic BJJ can take you pretty dang far, look at Roger Gracie. thanks FC I'll take a look at his stuff. I'm really just trying to understand the concepts behind these things. I watch quite a bit of Nick Gregoraiandadhanidis...hope I got his last name right hahaha. R...

Re: Grappling DVD reviews

To each their own (even if they're wrong). But I think that most people will be surprised, and disappointed, with the effectiveness of a lot of common grappling techniques if they try and use them in a fight against an athletic, even if untrained, person. When you include an arm, as in triangles, a...

Re: Chris Haeuter DVDs

I've seen them. They're very basic, but that may or may not be what you're looking for. So...what are you looking for? I bought the old school efficient BJJ and I really like them so far. Basics, but just different twists compared to what I have been taught. My academy recently left the Carlson Gra...

Re: Grapplers - Kimura/Double Wristlock Finish

I had a hard time finishing Kimuras until I made a slight adjustment. I don't try to finish the with my hand on their wrist and my other hand on my wrist. In this control its easy for them to grab something to defend and sometime its nearly impossible to break. So lets start from side control. What...

Re: What brand of Kettlebell do you use? Recommend?

KettlebellUSA is where I'll be getting mine from here on out. I got a pair of 32kg comp bells and a pair of 40kgs of regular style bells. Great price and free shipping, along with Military/LE discount. Love them. But honestly I think I like the regular style better for what I use them for. Like the ...

Re: I LIKE GRAPPO

I've been training over 3 years now. I am a 2 stripe Blue Belt currently. Been out since February due to a popped knee and just started back this past week. I began under a Carlson Gracie Jr. Black Belt association academy. As time went one I just felt that I simply was not getting any high level bl...

It depends. Now, getting that out of the way I wish that DJ would have gave credit were credit was due about 5-2-3. I am about sure someone had used it before, but as far as it on the forums I was the first to talk about using over at the old P&B board. There was thread on there about me using the 5...

Re: Is it stupid?

Just came home from another session. Things start becoming clearer. What I noticed is that i is easier - in a way - to grapple with higher belts than with novices like me. Big guys tend to do things very smoothly, and though I can pretty much nothing against them I learn a lot. While even though so...

Aspirin, Hydrolyzed beef Collagen, and Glycine cleared the psoriasis I had up on my knee within about 3 weeks time. If I miss these for a few days my knees start to itch. I've been getting some killer sleep with Now Foods Hibiscus Tea, Chamomile tea, Glycine, L-Theanine, GABA, and honey before bed. ...

Re: Isaac Hays Template/2 Day Strength Routine

I have been doing a play off of the 50/20 program the past 2 months or so. Its definitely filling me out as my arms are both over 17in now and my neck is nearing 18.5in at round 190lbs. I'm gaining strength too. Day 1 Saturday circuit- repeat 10 rounds as fast as possible 1)**Incline Press- 2-3-5(I ...

That's awesome, Meat. Be prepared to feel like a child wrestling with an adult. Is your club in Kentucky? I couldn't even stay on my feet with him when he was demonstrating on me. He changed directions so violently and kept popping me down, I could never get any posture defensive or otherwise. He c...

mike-Where are you training that you went to three bjj gyms and never did a throw? You did 10 takedowns? How many more do you need? 20? 30? 150? You only need a couple. Military Press 230x1. This was an absolute grinder. This puts me within the 10lbs of the 130% of BW Military press that used to be talked about some.

No, it's not even basic, it's just wrong. Who the hell thinks that 1-legged DLs are a good first option for the elderly? Confusing lumbar extension with hip extension is so not just semantics that I don't know where to begin without becoming a total asshole. If it's true, Bram, that you are doing t...
