Re: Programs for the beginner runner

Better advice in responses than in initial program. If you really, really, really want something to follow, do some kind of MAF program for 6-8 weeks and find out what happens. Strap your hrm on and go out for whatever distance you can repeat near daily or for as long as you have time for, walking i...

Re: Hill Sprints

If you're overweight, strapping on some sort of weight vest and simply walking would be good. It could be fun to simply do what you can do and toss in a few more each week. When you get to 12-15x, you will be good. This does get old quickly unless you're the type of person who likes such things. I d...

Re: Wu Flu

The inflammation in the lungs makes the x-ray appear different. It's a normal quick diagnostic when checking for pneumonia. Ya sure but without knowing whether the person has non-viral pneumonia, emphysema, pleural effusion, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, or a host of other possible ailments simply ...

What the hell is wrong with you people?

Lunas will last nearly forever.

XeroShoes have a good reputation though I haven't tried them myself.

You can get a few brands of flip flops better than the sandals that used to be used a decade ago.

Re: Rise of Skywalker (spoilers)

It was better than the other pair of films in this trilogy but that's like saying somebody is the least fat person on this bored. Entertaining, I suppose, but I have no idea who this is supposed to be for. The prequel trilogy receives a lot of push-back but if you've ever watched it with kids, know ...

Re: Foundation Training: Core Elements

I purchased this when it came out and it's not bad. In fact it's fairly good. I tried out the subscription service for about three months and it really doesn't have enough to justify the cost. Regarding Turd's question about programming, it's sort of mentioned in the most recent book that came out b...

Dear Dharma Treasure Sangha, It was recently brought to the attention of Dharma Treasure Board members that John Yates (Upasaka Culadasa) has engaged in ongoing conduct unbecoming of a Spiritual Director and Dharma teacher. He has not followed the upasaka (layperson) precepts of sexual harmlessness...

I didn't make it through the second season. They were trying to be cute by not letting you know which timeline you were in on each episode but...fool me once.

However, it cost her a lot of hill climbing strength. On any climb or terrain requiring uncomfortable effort, she actually became really slow, surprisingly slow, stupidly slow, like night and day. My take is that she possibly did TOO much Maffetone stuff for too long. Almost like it created a habit...

I use a Polar H7 though they've replaced (or updated?) it with the H10. I've been through several and need to head out and pick up a new strap, which only lasts a year or so, this evening. I use it each morning for HRV and have it strapped on for 12-24 hours per week and it generally works as promis...

I went in with ZERO expectations as I did for RI and, if you do that, it sort of works. It's enjoyable and worth a few hours but I really wish they could simply give us an R-rated Boba Fett movie.
