Re: The couch thread
I was told by someone in the system that he didn't get the vaccine because his father thought it was a plot. If it is not true, i apologize, but Greg is my age...we don't get polio in our generation.

This: "Be forewarned that things change in a year." As true as anything you will hear on this. With Skype and internet now, I'm just guessing, I am thinking things would be actually worse as you would get a taste of things (from good times like birthdays and the like to the shit storms of ...

Re: What's the IGx take on Michael Savage?
Two of my books are dedicated to guys on that accident. Savage needs to shut up. They left behind wives and kids. That is not what happened. This is a case of "the enemy has a vote." Some truly great guys died. One of the widows gave me the band I wear on the wrist. Savage really needs to ...

They only have level two numbers, but they don't stack up to what I have seen: 40 Pushups and 30 Goblet Squats with the 26 seems push heavy. But, I don't know: Bench Dips for 25 seems pretty good for a two, but then the row is really not much too it.

Re: ASICS getting in on @fit?
There is no ability to patent it. It is like the first rule of fight club or whatever. Greg told the world that "what Dan John does is crossfit." At the time, we were doing O lifting, sprints, carries, powerlifts and basic stuff. So, logically, I should sue you if you do any of it. That is...

The people who study the eastern med and their longevity miss this: http://www.abbamoses.com/fasting.html During my adventures there ("Indiana Dan"), I discovered quickly that food and fasting were far different than I ever imagined. It isn't starvation, it's not eating. The longevity stuf...

The problem with this kind of article is that my mother-in-law will see it and ask "are meat and veggies bad for you?" This is the problem that nutrition science is throwing at us: coffee is bad, coffee is good. I would argue deVany is more right than wrong about training versus long dista...

I had someone tell me a few weeks ago that they were going to open up about a bunch of stuff, but held off. I don't know if this is the same, Jay.

It goes back to the original issue raised in Colorado Springs. Greg Glassman said to the group: "What Dan John does is Crossfit. What Mark Twight does is Crossfit. What Scott Sonnan does is Crossfit." I think it was SS...gymnastics guy. So, from the beginning, and GG was quite candid about...

Burrito Jimmy. Not to mention him working out one side of his body one day and then the other side the next. Recently, Dan John has come around to Burrito Jimmy's wisdoms on this. Just after I read Ell Darden talk about this in 1978, I read it online in the earliest version of this forum. By the wa...

Before I start, Lisbeth's line: "But, here’s the thing: they’re wrong. Pukie is CrossFit." It just reminded me of when we would get Freshman talking Philosophy courses at Utah State and they wanted Professor Johnson to give them an "is" answer like somehow a dictionary approach t...

I got bored doing it, but if you read the reviewer's total reviews, there is usually only one and, if two, it is a Paleo Cookbook. Amazon reviewers, the real ones, are pretty harsh overall, but their comments are worth noting, if you are a writer. So, it does have the look of the thing some of the p...

Re: Are Americans better off today than 4 years ago?
It's funny how we ask these questions. The same people who will argue that the 1950s were the best time in American history will then ask if things were better four years ago. In my history classes, I used to give four models of looking at history and teens universally would think that either this w...

Spiritual? I have had more than a few conversations with Greg Glassman about this topic and I am sure that he would not agree with that at all. I think he was more than clear about that with me. In fact, his famous posts about my lack of whatever was targeted at my faith tradition. I think one of th...

I figured that. Just keep in mind what an odd transition this is for me. Perhaps we can chat in more honesty in an email or whatever. You can guess what this is like.
I'm looking forward to seeing what fakedanjohn on twitter is going to say about this.

Nah, it's not sensitive. Imagine if you saw your decisions discussed on a forum. Question one: really? Question Two: are there some episodes of "Soap" to watch on TV tonight? I like the ones with Diane/Diana C. So, I poke fun. I apologize. It's pretty easy to figure out what I am going to ...
