Re: Box Squatting

It would be easier to help you if you could post a video of your box squatting form.

In tight slacks or, better yet, short briefs.

Re: Back to KBs

Are you carrying a given BW% on your rucks? How do you compare the fitness needed for your SAR foot searches and the training you're doing? Does the SAR team give you specific training instructions/standards to attain? I ruck with 30# dry, which I chose just because it's what I use at GORUCK events...

I wanted to try the actual training mask with BJJ. I read some positive feedback about them.

Is that for special BDSM-BJJ classes?

I'm usually against ad hominem arguments, but I don't picture someone who has self-respect follow this man as "health" or "fitness" model.

Pandemic projects (stealing from Schlegel)

So, my gym is closed, and my resolution of gaining muscle is gone too. I'm changing decade this year and had made the project to start training judo or BJJ, but this is postponed until I'm vaccinated since I'm immunocompromised. New plan: I've started doing a 10-min "wake-up" routine I found on Brea...

Re: BJJ Purple Belt Question

Based on your experience, how far has modern BJJ strayed from being a "fighting art?" In what ways is it no longer about fighting? Almost total. It still takes coordination, timing, strength, cardiovascular endurance, and presence of mind but that's about as far as it goes. Virtually no one trains ...

Re: Megareps

Serious question: aside from high-rep competitions (pull-ups, push-ups, kb sport, etc.), why would someone train for high-rep sets? Farmer's strength maybe? I don't know... But maybe doing some heavy-ish reps on the minute for at least thirty minutes would be an easier and better way to attain othe...

Re: La Sierra High School Fitness

Looks like a propaganda video made to be "leaked" to the Soviets. They only show the best athletes close-up and, from the linked pdf, the student "must present himself with a short, trim haircut prior to color group movement." Looks like pre-military training. I wonder why that program disappeared f...

Programs for the beginner runner

I know some folks here are quite knowledgeable about the running game. Does this look like a good program to begin running to you? The author says it's better to train 3 energy systems and do less distance/time, to develop better technique, than to do the classical "build up volume" with aerobic tra...

Re: COVID-FIT: Survive the Chinese AIDS

As the name says, there are a total of ten movements (press, row, swing, squat, plank, a few hip flexor stretches and loaded carries). Most days alternate a strength move (press, swing, goblet squat, etc.) with a stretch. 2 days a week are strength focused (think DeLorme), 2 days a day are rest, the...

Honestly, I'm disappointed. I have all the time in the world to train right now, yet I don't know what I should do. I mean, I could train 3 times a day since I've been laid off and I mostly have to stay indoors. I thought here, IGx, would be the place to learn the secret training programs of the cho...

Interesting! <<<<q My goals are similar to you (get stronger, a bit bigger) and I do local hiking a few times a week. Have you tried incline bench rows?
