I will add rpm to both sets, but will gradually increase the weight to the second set. I have been doing an easy set of pull-ups each week day. I need to add some strength and mobility work.

I agree. Running a couple of short runs each week can get me down to a 20 minute 3-mile time if I am consistent with training. But I would have to run a lot more to do better.

I have followed a program for years like the one Bob Wildes mentioned. I think Dr. Ken Cooper mentioned running 2-3 miles 2-3 times a week is enough unless you are training for a specific sport.

The run wasn't a max effort. Less than 2 months left to take my PFT. I plan to keep my current running program after the PFT is complete. I usually take time off.
