Re: Pain is Good

KB C&J: 4 mins @ 16kg; 8 rpm KB OA Snatch: 4 mins @ 16kg; 20 rpm I started on an attempt to do a 2 minute set of C&J with the 24's but after about 30 seconds or so the weight felt like I was loosing control in the lockout. I underestimated how much the 24"s were going to take it out of me after the ...

Re: Pain is Good

Rehab bench: 3/10/145 lbs Deads: 3/5/335 lbs Squat: 3/10/155 lbs The bench made my shoulder feel a bit tight, but all in all not too bad. The deads felt slow, but I still got some decent technique work in. I am thinking of going from sumo dead, which is what I have been doing for a while due to a ta...

Re: Kettlebell Lifting & Nail Bending

Good job on your nail bending man. Are you going to be working with solely yellow nails before you move to the blue or are you going to be doing some supplemental bending?

Also, are these Ironmind nails?

Re: Pain is Good

My shoulder felt a little tight so I am taking the day off from lifting anything major and just focused on mobile stretching and joint drills. Then for shits and giggles I did: 23 chinups non-stop. Considering that I am almost 20 lbs heavier than when I scored the same number at the TSC in April...I...

Re: The couch thread

In a No-Holds-Barred Steel Cage Deathmatch, who would prevail? Richard Simmons or Couch? Simmons of course! His Fran time was like 2....secs. And we all know that Fran is the real test of a man's metal. http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/stancho/Richard_Simmons_Fitness_Guru_RARE_STUDIO_PROMO_Signed__522.jpg

Re: Ab G-ds Minimilism

Dunn - sounds ike the cycle I've been through ike 4-5 times over the last few years - feels better, ease back in, oops, stop, repeat, rinse. Hopefully this won't happen to you and you go back into pressing happily. So far so good. I am doing the log press with about 100 lbs and KB presses with the ...

Re: Ab G-ds Minimilism

The shoulder thing has been analyzed by all the leading lights of the KB world and multiple bodywork professionals. They have been yogaed, banded, mobilized, ARTed, chiroed, flowed and on and on. I guess you could you argue they're not fixed, I'm just not doing the stuff that bothers them - but I'm...

Re: The couch thread

Everything is relative so long as one stays ignorant. That's the appeal. To them: "stronger than they were when they started"= strong There's only so much Rippetoe and Burgener can do for them. I agree. The simple fact that they are claiming to get better results in a sports specific field than the...

I find it hilarious that they tout strength is their goal but their numbers are not all that impressive.

Re: Pain is Good

To be honest, my goals are to maximize my strength and power endurance without getting much heavier in bodyweight. Aside from that, there really isn't much else.
