Re: Training diary

Had a small contest on 9.27.08. Chopped really well. Set a PR in the standing, two man, combination, and jack & jill. Can't get much better than that. Here's the video footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doHhjso-55g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygATRSyUUHs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQfDzR...

Re: Training diary

9.25.08 Started out with yoga and roller. Started out with Snatch drills and warm ups. Did complexes followed by drop snatches. My left knee was feeling achy so I had to limit myself to power snatches yesterday. On the drills I did the bar, 75, and 95. Then the knee said now. So I power snatched aft...

Re: Training diary

That's strong damn lifting RBSG. Looking good man. That dude in the background was looking at you lifting wondering why he is such a pussy. Is that your daughter? Her form is atrocious. j/k :) It's great to see she's interested in lifting. The dude coaching me on is really cool. He has three hernia...

Shape, glad I could help. Good luck and go heavy. Today, Started with Yoga and Roller. Then off to the Snatches. Did 75x3, 95x3, 115x2, 135x1. This was meant to be drill work than anything else and they felt good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpUWFkcGEN0 After that did some power cleans in to fron...

Re: Training diary

had the show at St. Mary's on Saturday that was a bushel of fun. On Sunday did a bunch of olympic drills and some light power snatches with the girls. Walked about a mile and biked three miles with the girls afterwards. Today, had my best beefcake session in a long time. I'm trying to figure out why...

Re: Training diary

Training from yesterday - post doc deposition. I had no go at all. Stopped at the Huntington YMCa and lifted on their crappy platform with their crappy coated Ivanko plates. Started out with 10 min of elliptical and yoga. Missed my roller. Did snatch complexes. Did 45x3, 75x3, 95x3, 115x3, 135x3, 16...

Re: Training diary

Strong Guy...I really appreciate the videos. I've been picking up some things by watching these. It is hard for me to get that second pull and arch to bring the bar up in a straight line...I'm swinging it resulting in slightly bent arms to finish the lift which I know is wrong. I'll keep plugging a...

Re: Training diary

Had another session today. Didn't have much go though. Sorta sore from yesterday. A little achy in the knee too so I was having major difficulty bailing on my snatches. Everything was power. Just like Woodzilla. In any event, rolled, did some yoga, then to the weight room. Started with Snatch Comple...

Re: Training diary

Update on training the past few days. Friday, did a demo at the WSM. Cut a 40" yellow poplar. Put 12 in the front and 13 in the back. One of my better cuts actually. It was very smooth. Saturday, did a demo with the wife and the Bradshaw. Cut three underhands, three trees, six doubles, and three hot...

Re: Training diary

Last night, I consumed mass quantities, rolled, and did some yoga. Nothing too strenuous. Today on the other hand, I got a little nasty. Started out with Rolling and Yoga. Then went onto Snatch Complexes followed by drop snatches. Went 75x6, 95x6, 115x6 (recorded), 135x5 (recorded). Then did 165 for...

Thanks. Don't know how much I can help as I'm a novice oly lifter, but I'll answer what I can. I do have a long history of heavy crap in my background though. I think some of the lessons learned could be passed on.

Good work Shaf!!! TK's saved my life about two years ago. I hadn't squatted for nearly two years an my leg strength was in the crapper. Had pain and clicking everywhere. Went to an ortho with an MRI report. My misses summed up my hour long consult with the ortho - "You need to stop being a pussy." I...

IMO, Muscledriver bells are comparable to K2s. Handle feels bigger than DD or AKC, but they serve their purpose and you can't go wrong with the price.

It's a piece of steel/scrap iron with a handle on it.

The fuss about it is laughable.
