Re: Thoughts on Handguns?
What do the Airgun slugs weigh? Because as far as muzzle velocity, the .25 is right on point (better then quite a few .25 ammos) and the .357 is close. I'm wondering what kind of terminal ballistics you could generate.

Re: The Seven Five - movie about Bklyn Police
It's an incredible documentary. I remember when Dowd got busted in the early 90's but I was too young to really care or be interested in the story. It's pretty scary how he just keeps going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. I remember this Daily News cover when he was testifying vividly. http:...

Science can't ever become religion. Unfortunately, that's what it's become to some people. Is the climate changing? Yes. Are humans contributing to the change? Yes. Are climate scientists, blinded by some orthodoxy, constantly getting caught cooking their numbers? Yes. This shit would get them faile...

whenever fox does a story on trump, they should run a disclaimer, saying that they are a public relations firm serving the president. hannity appeared in a trump promo video. Now you see how what it's like with every other MSM source protecting Democrats forever. For fuck's sake, they were caught c...

Flynn was a registered Dem, appointed to run the DIA by Obama. It also appears they knew about this before Obama left office. Possibly December. Why no investigation? Or did this fall under the FBI, "we looked into it ,and it wasn't malfeasance"? https://www.wsj.com/articles/mike-flynn-was...

I agree with everything that has been said here. Props to him for getting the payday if the numbers being bandied about are true. If he really thinks he can compete in a straight up boxing match with one of the best p4p fighters of the last 50 years, he's fucking delusional. Floyd is going to take h...

Re: Signature Food/Resteraunt
You didn't mention this and I just found out recently that the basic bacon, egg and cheese on a roll breakfast sandwich is kind of a NY/LI thing. True. But you can get a good egg sandwich from almost any deli, bodega, or food truck in the city. As long as they use good ingredients. One of the benefi...

Baltimore has crab cakes of course. The lesser known specialty is pit beef. I loved Baltimore. There was an abundance of hot black chicks who wanted to party with white dudes in the Inner Harbor. Fell's Point was great. However, my one complaint was that the food was, meh. At least where we were lo...

Pittsburgh has some pretty good eating.
The original Primanti bros. in the Strip district had pretty sick corned beef, roast beef and pastramii. Made with the slaw, fries, and tomatoes on the sandwich.
Pamela's. Also in the strip. Incredible hot cakes.

You left out DiFara's. The old steakhouses. Peter Lugar, Harry's, S&W, The Palm, Keane's. And the vast array of ethnic foods. You can get anything if you know where to look. As I type and think, I think I have to disagree with your premise. NY doesn't have a signature; that's for smaller cities...

Signature Food/Resteraunt
Ok, since the Cheese steak came up in a couple of threads, here is a thread idea. What is your cities signature food and which local place or places in your opinion serve it best? This is especially interesting to me because: 1) I'm a fat ass. 2) my buddy works for MLB, we try to visit a different s...

Re: The problem with the "Put The Chromosme In The Bag" meme
Down Syndrome is also known as Trisomy 21. It occurs because of non-disjunction or translocation errors in meiosis. You are correct, the affected person will have three copies of the 21st chromosome instead of a pair. It's mean. But, yes you are overthinking it. There are several disorders like Cri ...

I don't analyze what I read. I read, enjoy, and go on. But your idea of the Judge as Old Testament GAWD is a great concept. Now I need to read it again. This going to sound funny with all the spelling mistakes I make, and because I'm back in school for Bio/PA, but I started out as an English Teache...

Don't know about his best but it certainly is good and probably his most accessible, even Oprah liked it. Blood Meridian is the the one that continues to eat away at me. And I don't know much about edgy. That book is a force of nature that breathes death down the reader's neck. Living in the Southw...

Lots of really great books here. Some I've read, some I need to add to my list. I was glad to see Jim Thompson, I forgot how much I loved those novels. William Gibson as well. I forgot two books for my list. Before Elmore Leonard started to write his crime novels (many of which are excellent), he wr...

Stronger man than I...oi. That book ruined an entire vacation for me. I think it's by far McCarthy's best book. The language is so masterfully crafted. It is also truly terrifying. All the edgy bastards talk about "Blood Meridian", just to be edgy. Then you speak with them, and you can te...

Sorry, not my area of expertise. That's weird that they wouldn't sell something that is legal to purchase on the civilian market and virtually identical.

Show's hysterical. If you like Always Sunny, you'll like it. Not about sex at all. Kid's brother convinced him to lick the grill at at a Benny Hanna type place.
