I sold my copy of RKC, but doesn't Pavel say to do the swings overhead?

I always thought people did them lower for either safety reasons or the weight was too heavy to get full-ROM.

I was wondering when this would happen: Workout of the Day April 7th, 2007 http://crossfit.com/ 15-12, and 9 rep rounds of: Back squat Handstand push-up --- One of my problems with Crossfit has been it's avoidance of general hypertrophy loads (8-12 RM). Recently they started doing sets of 3's and 5'...

I would personally like to see a Luke Cage and Ironfist movie. ....matter of fact, do the Frank Miller story line where he goes to Japan and is fighting the Yakuza and ninjas and shit. They were making a Luke Cage movie with Tyrese, but I think it's sidelined and they are working on an Iron Fist mo...

I go to rottentomatoes.com and check their reviews, if a movie gets a high rating, like over 90%, then I might see it. I haven't sat through a shitty movie (unless it was a compromise with a friend) in a long time, and the last 3 I saw -- Borat, Children of Men and Casino Royale -- were all excellen...

Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Almond Cereal

Lots of protein, high in fiber, low sugar. And tasty in a good for you/healthy kind of way. I found mine for just over 4$ a box, but here's a link that goes into detail. http://www.truefoodsmarket.com/product_info.php/products_id/724 It starts off very crunchy, but it started to get soft on my last ...

"Periodization Breakthrough" is a bit dated. I waffle on whether or not I think the effects of exercise on acute hormonal releases is desirable or if it's almost all a mechanical issue with hormonal cascades as a side effect of the proper mechanincal stimulus. Heavy squats (6-12RM) with 1...

Re: And you thought it was over!

Protocols high in volume, moderate to high in intensity, using short rest intervals and stressing a large muscle mass, tend to produce the greatest acute hormonal elevations (e.g. testosterone, GH and the catabolic hormone cortisol) compared with low-volume, high-intensity protocols using long rest...

Where it becomes important is in metabolic conditioning and the ability to generate a peak power output over a duration. Basically the work (not "workload", that's an imprecise term) correlates with total oxygen uptake. The average power correlates with rate of oxygen consumption. Whether...

Hey Spells. You are dumb sometimes. They are different exercises but that changes nothing. A deadhang Snatch and a Swing Snatch are different exercises but the end result is the same. You moved a certain amount of mass a certain height. Talk all the shit you want about Glassman. It doesn't change t...

The range is not reduced and neither is the force. Force = Mass x Acceleration. Who accelerates faster? A kipper or a non-kipper? And the weight is constant. We're not talking about intra and inter muscular tension. You just defeated yourself Bram. How's this for reduced range? http://www.norcalsc....

Dazed, Are you serious ? WORK equals FORCE x DISTANCE. I doubled the distance because I did TWICE as many reps. Here's an easier example: 1 lap around a standard track equals 400m. I run 1 lap in 1 minute. Now I run 2 laps in 1 minute. I have doubled my workload since I moved the same mass twice th...

Steamboat Willie, I like some of their GPP stuff. It seems that a lot of people fall into the belief that crossfit really will take care of all, but all exercise has to be adjusted to your own needs. The only people I've met who were crossfitters experienced muscle wasting and injury, which when I l...
