Overall the girls had more guts than the guys. Some of those boys were just chicken shits. And the old gal pulled it together and got it done !

Don't care much about protesters one way or the other but when they block highways they deserve what they get. Blocked highways can get people killed - think emergency vehicles etc. I foresee laws where people who hit them might not be prosecuted.

Re: Odds that President Trump will not finish his term
Is "tweeting" like the Donald does presidential? Now I'm not sure exactly what "presidential" is but I find the amount of his tweeting kinda strange at best. In one way I like that it's not all Washington insiders but some of the cabinet choices kind of leave me shaking my head a...

Isis's plan is to simply bankrupt the world killing them. At about a bazillion dollars a head - it will probably work. We're way too stupid to catch on to their plot.

I don't really know squat about the market but I was always told the Index Funds were considered low risk. I have a couple Index 500 funds that have treated me as well as can be expected considering the recent crashes etc

My takeaway from all this is "Save money in some kind of tax protected account - eliminate debt - etc etc. Every retirement book I have read says pretty much all the same things. Oh - and payroll deduction is your friend.

Real estate can be a good way but as retirement approaches may not be liquid enough for your purposes - the time of life you find yourself in can matter as to what's proper "for you".

Re: Savings and retirement
I've been retired now since 2003 - I did some things right and a few not really wrong but could have done better I'm sure. I retired from the Post Office so a solid pension check each month and group health insurance taken out of it automatically - certainly in the "right" column. When I s...

I wish I was more hopeful the the changes under Trump will be positive but I fear it will just change one set of "we the average are screwed" for a different set of "we're screwed" issues.

Use a flathead screwdriver to prise off the back of the ipad. There's a DVD player inside the ipad, and the cover clicks back on after. No there isn't - getting the back off with the screwdriver was easy enough - had to use a hammer to get it to stay back on though - works fine still with a little ...

Politicians will quickly "game" whatever system we have. Gerrymandering is another giant cluster that is corrupt as hell. No idea how it "should be done" but what we have now if pretty much a mess.

Re: White kid shot in Reno. My money is on racial violence here.
Might get interesting - bunch of chicken shits all gang up on one kid (for the second day in a row) and when he goes to protect himself - the cop shoots him instead of the assholes who ganged up on him. It's always hard to judge from less than full information but damn - this sounds like a mess. And...

To tel you the truth I'm sick of it. I make no argument for or against the increase of racism or the fucking stupidity of the SJW ass lickers, but I am at the point where I will stomp on somebody if they make a remark to me I don't like. My white privilege? Fuck you. I grew up mostly fucking broke....

Re: How many facebook friends did you loose this week?
What do you guys see as the most effective way to effect social change? Protests seemed to work much better when there were far fewer of them. These days an individual cause protest tends to get lost in the noise of the fairly constant stream of protests going on daily for anything and everything. O...

Re: Why Trump won
One small point - a larger number of people hated Trump more than HRC. More people in lower-populated states with an Electoral College advantage hated Trump less. Agreed - I was just too lazy to make the distinction. I still have trouble wrapping my head around the fact that in a nation of how ever...

Re: Why Trump won
Why did Trump Win? Because in the end more people hated HRC than hated Trump - but I have little doubt both candidates were considered toxic by most. The amount of hate, fear and "I'm less evil than my opponent " I don't think gave anybody the warm fuzzys about the future. But time will te...
