The Man in the High Castle

It's on Amazon, free w/ Prime. It's an alternate history if Germany and Japan had won WW2 and occupied the US. The 'Greater German Reich' goes to the east side of the Rockies and the 'Pacific States' goes to the west. The Rockies themselves are poor and neutral and seemingly lawless. Plus it's where...

Re: Amuricah

I'd head to Seattle and do the San Juans, North Cascades, Portland, Rainer, Hood, and up to BC/Vancouver. But I wear Chacos a lot.

Re: Casper mattress review

My wife and I just got a Casper king. Had it in the box for a few weeks while I built the platform. I love it, but it's only been two nights.

Uncle Brutha's Hot Sauces

There are only two flavors- #9 and #10. #9 is Chile Verde Garlic & Ginger and is the best sauce I've ever had on eggs. #10 is Four Chiles & Garlic, a little hotter than the green, and is great on anything.

Best hot sauces I've ever had. A little expensive, but worth it for me.

I concur. Very, very good. Might need to reread Killing Pablo- don't really remember it too well.

50,000 dogs on the streets of Detroit. Minus mine, who I picked up off the streets seven years ago this April.

Re: Kennedy's Death

Very interesting stuff. The NYT also has a nice piece on the pallbearers, as well as a editorial rebuttal to the revisionist history Baffled subscribes to. We spent a nice moment in my classes discussing how we sometimes forget that history happened after we read the pallbearer article. An even nice...

Kennedy's Death

Anyone old timers around in 1963? Curious to hear stories if you were. The NYT has a nice piece today on the real vs. perceived divisiveness of America at the time.

Thanks

Re: Whistlepig Rye

Friend of mine from high school started Whistle Pig, but I haven't tried it yet.

I'd add Finger Lakes Distilling's McKenzie's Rye Whiskey. Went to a tasting last summer and picked up a bottle and one of their gin.

New

New. Nothing much to offer. Former collegiate rower and 10 yr rowing coach. Though I'd register to very rarely chime in when the ergs come up. I've gotten great ideas off here in the past couple years, so thanks.
