Art of Learning by Josh Waitzkin. I've wanted to read it for a while; for some reason, last week I pulled the trigger on reserving it at the library.

she's 85 in 2018 ... it's not a dig to say that the broad doesn't have long. She will probably make it back from this fall, but there's only so much bounce left in the old broad. Don't remember. But he thinks the Obama-ness rubbed off on him over the 8 years; and after he graciously said "Ladies first" to Hilliary in 2016, it's his turn now.
I mean, that's my guess.

Re: What to make of the election?
That said, in parsing this election, the Dems fell pretty flat. They gave up seats in the Senate, 27 of 50 governorships are in the hands of the GOP – this was no Blue wave. This was always a terrible Senate map for the Dems. Losing a couple seats there was always the most likely result. And you me...

Kim by Rudyard Kipling Kim is wonderful. One of my favorite science fiction novels is Lord of Light (1967) by Roger Zelazny. It's one of the big books of the "New Wave" of sf in the 1960s. Zelazny writes it in a flowery style that's supposed to evoke the Indian culture of this colonized p...

There's a traveling show which is highlighting the polychromy of statuary in classical antiquity that's pretty cool. It was started by Frankfurt's Goethe University, and coalesced in the first "Gods in Color" exhibition at Munich's Glyptothek museum in 2003; it has since been elaborated b...

Would you say that this whole episode represents positive exposure for Miss Warren? Oh no, not at all. But I don't get the outrage. It doesn't seem like she's been "running on" this heritage thing. It's not like her campaign logo going back to her first senate run was Native American feat...

This psychopathic cunt claimed a status utterly not entitled to by direct lineage or by culture. How anyone right or left can abide this nonsense is beyond me. When? A plain talking personality who focused on inclusiveness as opposed to atomizing the electorate via identity-politicking and improving the lives of all Americans would ...
