Re: Compact Fusion Reactor
There's not doubt such a result would epochal. What I referred to above reference a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 9 means it is full in production. The program described in the PM article is only going to produce TRL 5 or maybe 6. That's just for the reactor. Converting into electricity is ano...

Re: Compact Fusion Reactor
My office and lab were across the hall from the tokamak group. Great guys to chat physics with. Hard time getting grad students to sign-up. Thirty years ago, that sort of research seemed like a good way to throw away a career before it started.

Re: Compact Fusion Reactor
Bob Guccione. $20M. Nowhere enough to fund such an undertaking. Especially in the early 80's when the technology was infantile in comparison. There was the idea of a compact tokamak. One of the scientists involved, Coppi, later joined the MIT physics department. There's a compact tokamak at MIT for ...

MIT. Where would be without you.
Typical of Popular Mechanics and it's ilk, article is a bit optimistic. Much has been learned about fusion in programs like LLNL's NIF so the base technology is pretty well understood. Going to TRL 9, little bit more difficult.

Re: What to make of the election?
No idea whether they joined peaceful protests, whether they thought it was worth their time, were in a position to do it if they so chose or any other of the myriad variables. It's not germane, either. They'd have to believe the level and extremity of violence being visited upon cities nationwide wa...

Re: What to make of the election?
This is pretty clear. Group of ex military guys who haven't adjusted. Not happy with that they see as governors not fixing the problems of urban unrest. They can't wait to "tune up" the looters and rioters. That's not okay. What's not okay? That they haven't adjusted well. Most I know, re...

Re: What to make of the election?
I missed the part where the "ex military guys getting a group and fixing the problem if governors don't" included "in conjunction and with the consent of local law enforcement." What you did was make a gross assumption about what was meant by ex military guys getting a group and...

Re: What to make of the election?
"White" is a concept created when ethnic euro urban catholics were cleansed from the cities by eastern seaboard WASPs and Jews. "Whites" are the victims of Elite WASP and Jewish ethnic animus. And if you know those groups, it becomes clear that they did it increase returns on us...

Re: What to make of the election?
As I understand it, Billy the Kid was invited to this dealership to help protect it from rioters. Adjacent dealerships had already been burned, and the owner invited folks onto his property to help protect it. Now, assuming for a moment that this is true, was what the kid was doing actually "o...

Re: What to make of the election?
Legal question, since as SPELLS pointed out, I'm just not that bright: is it open carry if you're carrying it on private property you were invited on to by the owner? Generally you can do what you want on private property in terms of possession (still can't brandish). Only exception is if there's a...

This kid is one of the bad whites. Intra-ethnic cleansing. End of story. And I usually so enjoy your posts. Shit dude. I haven't even talked about Usury yet. The Northern Euro drive to intra-ethnic cleanse can work in isolation and in multi-ethnic societies where other ethne intra-ethnic cleanse to...

The law is super-clear and he was clearly outside it. 18 to open carry. He's not 18. Yes. He committed a misdemeanor. For which he should be attacked by a lawless mob, some in the commission of felonies and also unlawfully possessing firearms. And should have no right to defend himself as a result....

Re: What to make of the election?
If the kid was committing a crime (he definitively was committing at least one, as 17-year-olds cannot open carry in WI), people attempt to disarm a criminal, and he kills them, he's not innocent. I don't understand why you are being so obtuse about this. This kid drove to another state where he ca...

Re: Trayvon Martin Hoax movie
Zimmerman would have gone to trial with no witness testimony at all. CCL/CCW courses are pretty clear that you need to be particularly careful about nonlethal/nonviolent confrontations when carrying, because you can be held responsible for escalations. A specific example cited is, gun owner argues ...

That doesn't even kinda, sorta scratch the surface of the military and commercial espionage the Chinese have been involved in. Add this to the training of their students in our doctoral programs and we've pretty much not only had stolen away from under our noses trillions of dollars in research, we ...

Bronze Age Mindset by Bronze Age Pervert The most unique book I have read a very long time, I will have to read it again as the first time through it's pretty overwhelming. I give this book my highest recommendation. This turned out to be quite good, unexpectedly, but it took months to get through....

Not interested in getting into this argument. Hell, I don't even know where you guys get the time to write all this. Nonlinear fluid dynamics is not my area of expertise. I don't know the source for what you're posting but I'll take it on faith that you've done you're homework. Surprised about the absence of increased violence during Prohibition but it did give rise to the Kennedy dynasty so not without wanton loss of life on that account. Not surprised about the oth...

It’s a little known fact that Prohibition greatly decreased the incidence of alcoholism and related disease in the population. Here’s a good factoid... In 1830, on average, Americans consumed 1.7 bottles of hard liquor per week, three times the amount consumed in 2010 Holy shit, that’s a lot of fir...

It's also good to know what hospitals in your area are cutting edge in stroke treatment. Amen to that. Had stroke of an unusual sort about 8 months ago. Effected the 3rd and 6th cranial nerves. My eyes were no longer synced; nominally staring straight ahead my left eye pointed about 25-degrees to t...
