I’ve started doing chicken galantine ala Jacque Pepin. He does it in five minutes effortlessly; it still takes me more than 30. Damn good and as long as you don’t pierce the skin it still works out no matter how it looks and is worth the effort.

The book is different than The Godfather 1 and 2 films. In some ways better but not in all ways. If you’re a big fan of the movies Puzo’s original vision is worth exploring on its own merits whether you read or listen.

The Godfather has been on my ‘to read’ list forever but I never get around to it. The audiobook version is an 18 hour performance by Joe Mantegna that I had a hard time not listening to straight through. Very highly recommended.
