Congress was never what the Dems feared. New Year, New AG, declassified docs, new Special Prosecutor.

Sounds good, I love scorched earth as much as anybody. Keep us posted.

Mueller investigation is basically done, cnn says they are in the report writing phase and most investigators are now returned to their normal jobs. So there's not really anything to obstruct now. It's gonna be a damp squib, but get ready for the cries of "the new AG stopped Mueller's work prematurely"
That's what I've been reading. It's hard to look at the way this is shaping up and think that Mueller has developed some really jaw-dropping high crimes and misdemeanors that could fuel an impeachment.
Yeah, i think too many people worked on it to keep anything juicy from leaking a hint or two. It would just be too tempting for somebody, somewhere.
You definitely called that right. For those troubled by this there is help.

But Spells and Nafod were so sure he was going down for collision and obstruction!!!! LMAO

Hopefully some people go to jail for weaponizing the intelligence apparatus against a citizen running for office and elected official who did nothing wrong.

Call me a little surprised that Don Jr wasn't charged with lying. You wonder why all the rest of those Trump hangers-on lied about Russia and then lied about lying about Russia. Habit, I guess. Organizational culture.

Manafort is probably high-fiving his cell mate.

Had enough yet?

I would laugh, but it still hasn’t gotten good.

This might be a good time to eat a big meal before swimming or running with scissors if you are a Democrat.

My next prediction is Trump has over an 80% chance of winning re-election, but still a lot can happen.
But when he wins, and I feel more confident about relection than even when I was telling you drones he would win the first time (and slightly less than when I Told you Mueller was gonna get nothing), we are going to get some real scorched earth.

Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Ohr, McCabe, and Strzok all very exposed. Rosenstein also signed a false FISA warrant and admitted to offering to wear a wire.

These dumbasses tried to take out a President. They missed.

What goes around comes around.

Not sure SDNY agrees. Even Barr, who won't release the report yet, says Trump wasn't exonerated. Let's see what comes out.

Trump in Helsinki in 2018
"President Putin says it's not Russia. I don't see any reason why it would be,"
From the Barr memo
The Special Counsel’s investigation determined that there were two main Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election. The first involved attempts by a Russian organization, the Internet Research Agency (IRA), to conduct disinformation and social media operations in the United States designed to sow social discord, eventually with the aim of interfering with the election...

The second element involved the Russian government’s efforts to conduct computer hacking operations designed to gather and disseminate information to influence the election. The Special Counsel found that Russian government actors successfully hacked into computers and obtained emails from persons associated with the Clinton campaign and Democratic Party organizations, and publicly disseminated those materials through various intermediaries, including WikiLeaks.
Trump knew all of this when he was excusing Putin.

And you wonder why people thought he was colluding.

So...what do you make of Trump’s lie about Putin and Russia? He knew the truth when he said it.

I look forward to reading the Mueller Report and finding out why Mueller specifically didn’t exonerate him on obstruction.

Don't be ridiculous. The report completely exonerates Trump. He told us so many times.

To be precise, he is somebodies' bitch.

He basically obstructed Justice clear as day, to hide something (s). As Mueller noted, to paraphrase, "the evidence does indicate a thorough FBI investigation would uncover facts that the president would understand to be crimes."

Probably a shit-ton of things. Unless all of those things involved Trump touching himself in the closet, other people know. Like David pecker, who caught and killed stories for Trump. Think he didn't have real leverage over or president? You trust him?

Trump is all their bitches.

Mueller in his report did not draw a conclusion on whether Trump obstructed justice but specifically said that "if we had confidence" Trump did not do so, "we would so state." The report also says, "The conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the president's corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law."

This is the sentence that Toobin says is key, calling it "all but an explicit invitation to Congress to impeach the president." Toobin also concluded that there's "no other way" to read this sentence other than Mueller telling Congress he "cannot enforce the obstruction of justice laws against the president" but that lawmakers "can do it" through impeachment.

Toobin clarified that he's not sure whether Congress will — or even should — actually impeach Trump.

That's actually the only translation you can't make. Mueller specifically says he is following OLC guidelines that he can't indict.

I see it as Mueller telling congress to do its job.

From the Mueller report
The President’s efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests. Comey did not end the investigation of Flynn, which ultimately resulted in Flynn’s prosecution and conviction for lying to the FBI. McGahn did not tell the Acting Attorney General that the Special Counsel must be removed, but was instead prepared to resign over the President’s order. Lewandowski and Dearborn did not deliver the President’s message to Sessions that he should confine the Russia investigation to future election meddling only. And McGahn refused to recede from his recollections about events surrounding the President’s direction to have the Special Counsel removed, despite the President’s multiple demands that he do so.
So who is in charge in the White House? The guy who was elected, or a bunch of appointed officials? Who is going to make decisions when we have an actual crisis that needs a president who isn’t a fucking idiot?
