Looks like Nancy has finally caved to the pressure and is willing to talk impeachment. Fuck that noise. All the proceedings will accomplish is solidifying is moronic base even more with the narrative that the Democrats are out to get him, and make the Democrats look like fools when they can't muster the votes in either the House to take Impeachment to the Senate or it gets to the Senate and Mitch kills it.
Better to let Trump keep making a fool of himself and pissing off the swing voters in farm/factory country that held their nose and voted for him in '16.

And do the Democrats really want a President Pence? That believer in iron age war god mythology doesn't need the opportunity to pull further away from science and reason than he already has.

A transcript isn't selective, it's verbatim. The complaint is like an allegation, whereas the transcript is actual evidence. One is primary, the other is secondary, right? And if you don't see the logic, that's because there is none to the idea that Trump is in Putin's pocket while also collaborating with the Ukrainians.

PS Neuman, iron age war god mythology is better than anything either liberals or conservatives are offering. Liberal democracy brought us environmental collapse, nuclear arms proliferation, dysgenic third world hordes, and the Kardashians.

Oh, and another thing it will accomplish is start a never ending impeachment call by the other party any time a new President is elected. Every administration going forward will be a constant impeachment fiasco for 4-8 years until it's the other party's turn.
If you think Trump is a fool who's way out of his depth, simply put together a better plan and beat his ass next November. It really shouldn't be that hard to beat Trump. They nearly did it with the most hated cunt in the last 20 years of American politics.

100% agree about the "neo-Liberalism" that was nothing but corporatism by a friendlier name. Nearly 40 years of union busting and letting corporate and Wall Street interests take precedent over all else hasn't worked out so well. Especially now that many of the issues are coming home to roost.
There's got to be a middle ground somewhere. I think a good first step would be finding some other metric rather than GDP or the DOW to measure our success.

I'm really starting to think that the problem with the US going to come down to diversity. We're simply too large of a nation with both a very large and very diverse population. We have far too may horses pulling in far too many directions. Look at the most successful (happy, content, whatever metric you want to use) countries. They generally have a fairly homogenous population mostly pulling in the same direction.

The whole Senate disagrees with you, so that should be a clue. The law is the complaint shall be sent. The White House said "I'll let you see part."

Democracy was originally intended to be implemented at a polis/poleis level, based solely on able men who shared a common bond of ancestry, religion, culture, and military preparedness. Where does that exist in our society today?

Wait, so now you bow to the wisdom of the Republican senate? That's an interesting turn. Show me what you're reading so I can catch up.

I don't see trump agreeing to send any transcript this fast unless it's not going to help the Dems. One thing you have to admit is he usually has no problem just denying anything no matter what anyone else says.

You miss the point entirely. People are so disgusted, on a visceral level they can't full apprehend, with the system that a guy like Trump comes along--admittedly a scoundrel--who seems not to care, to actually take pleasure in shitting on the norms and conventions of our pissworld, and he thrills people precisely because he doesn't give a fuck what you think.

So Rudy is saying he only approached the Ukrainians because the Dept of State asked him to. Looks like they’re going to need a bigger bus to shove people under.

Alfred, regarding your worries about a diverse population, remember that our Civil War was white folks fighting white folks.

Historically, the transcript apparently can be anything from a transcription to a summary to a couple sentences. The White House has also previously released altered transcripts of speeches where the audio showed the changes. So there's no point in falling for this.

The Senate unanimously said to release the full whistleblower complaint, since the call is only one part of it.

We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.

The President: I would like you to do us a favor though

I'm reading the transcript right now, but one thing is clear, I was wrong about these being verbatim. It makes more sense to me to want to see the whistleblower complaint, in light of that.

BTW, here is the complete thing: https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/u ... 9.2019.pdf

I'm not sure you're persuadable so I don't want to get into a long thing. The "do us a favor part," coupled with investigating the Bidens, using Giuliani (who works for the Trump, not the government) as the contact is extremely inappropriate. If this were a real thing, the FBI or DOJ would be involved. Trump and Giuliani would not be running point.

Bear in mind that receiving anything of value from a foreign government is illegal for Trump if it impacts an election.

Finally, here is some background on the guy Biden was involved in getting fired. The EU and IMF were also applying pressure for this guy specifically to get fired. The idea that "we need to see what was really going on with Biden" denies that 1) this has already been hashed out and 2) Trump doesn't care about corruption.

I dunno, I like to think I'm open to new ideas, but that's fine. Regardless, I support transparency and welcome the release of the transcript and the original complaint. I've read the transcript now and it didn't seem crazy.
