Another year but it still seems like yesterday.

One of the reason's for our split with Lamond was so that Jim's teachings, influence and technical adaptions would be passed on.

It is my duty and obligation to him to carry on his lesson's, the one's about combat for the Dojo, the one's about bearing and decorum I shall pass to my Boy's.

Enjoy the great Hall in the Sky Sermpai.

Last night I sat down after getting home from Jujutsu, the wife and Brood our out of town.
i turn on the TV, it's an old John Wayne flick, so I keep it on and then I hear the Duke say.

"So what's your plan Trooper Tirey?"

It was Rio Grande, I remeber Jim saying he got his handle from a john Wayne flick.
I thought it was She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, but I was wrong.

Rounding another year and I just thought that I'd put a picture of Jim up. I've been on the business end of this para-cord technique many times, and in this case I'm just glad that it wasn't me. I've got more pictures but this has to be one of my favorites.

Awesome picture man. I was talking about Jim to a friend today. He is missed greatly and I think of him often.

Its been about 5 years now, damn.. I won't have access to a computer tomorrow so I thought I would put up a picture of my good friend Jim and pay tribute.

This is a great picture of Jim and Dave Wink practicing the sought after art of "Joyful obnoxiousness". Sticks n' knives, pain and beer to follow on all of those nights. I'll use this as my inspiration for my class's topic on Thursday.

This is for Jim, it was one of his favorite songs, we actually sat on his bumper one and sang it.

Seriously thinking of calling my clients and bining the day and going down to Arlington to see him. Maybe sing it again and give him a Sit rep of what the Group has been doing.

I fucking miss him. I'm going to stop because we all know how I get.

It will be 6 years tomorrow since the passing of Trooper and he is still greatly missed.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and I feel him over my should when I teach.

We will be training and teaching class in his memory tomorrow night at the Pit Dojo of the Combined Martial Studies Group, Armatura Ryu Jujutsu.

Crom, Lord Stomp and I will all be teaching techniques he taught to us.

Crom will probably do his 550 cord techniques.

I will do some of his "magazine club" techniques, Facial fighting and if their is time go over some of his knife stuff.

I want to do it in the way he did when he got excited and had a bunch of stuff to show. This way some of the newer guys understand where much of our techniques and tactics come from.

As a Ronin dojo, we don't bow to a guy on the wall, but Jim is our real founder.

We carry on Jim's work in martial arts as many in the "Units" and "Teams" do his professional work, in the shadows today.

Onega Shimas, Sempai!

That sounds like a fun class and a great tribute. Jim's excitement about teaching new material is one of the things that made him a great teacher.

The teaser for the Lara Logan 60 Minutes piece last night was about Mogadishu.

I was glad to see the topic covered, but I felt that the piece could have been a lot
better and probably needed the entire hour to begin to scratch the surface of so
many issues that played a part in the ultimate result.

March 21st is almost here.

This year I am not going to sit around on that day, all depressed like I have ever since then.

I somehow think that a man who lost so many of his friends and brothers in combat and training accidents would probably tell me to bare up, remember the good times, what he taught me and our friendship and do the things we used to do together.

In honour of my late Sempai, I plan on doing some Knife training with a few friends, PTing with his old, green Kettlebell and then doing a road march with a bottle of something alcoholic and going until the bottle is drained and me along with it.

He'd like that!

Any of our mutual friends who wants to join me is more than welcome to do so.
