Peptides

Post by Sangoma » Sat Dec 05, 2015 1:05 am

I thought it would be fair to share my guinea pig experience with couple of - legal - substances.

From about July this year I have been using peptides or, to be more academic, Growth Hormone Secretagogues. There is a lot of theory behind this, but for the best results you have to use both GHRH and GHRP analogues. I settled on Ipamorelin and Mod-GRF. Ipamorelin does not increase appetite, in spite being the analogue of Ghrelin. Mod-GRF is pretty much the only choice of GHRH with characteristics close to physiological. For a while I used saturation doses - 1ug/kg each (or 100 ug), but after a while on the advice of the coach I consulted I reduced it to 30-50 ug a shot. Anything from two to five times a day is a reasonable dosing, but I stuck with twice a day, mostly for work reasons. An anaesthetist injecting himself in the change room... that would get more than strong reaction.

Results are good. Growth Hormone is a strong lipolytic agent, and makes it much easier to lose fat. Peptides are only one part of the equation, of course, and they will not do much without proper protocol: nutrition, cardio and lifting. I did quite a bit of fasted cardio and intermittent fasting on non-training days - up to 10 hours from getting out of bed. Another effect - less fat gain after I slacked off the diet: I gained a few kilos, but most of it is lean, at least according to the mirror and Tanita scale. I didn't notice much in terms of strength or muscle mass gain, but this could be due to negative caloric intake during that time. I have read a few claims that peptides help to keep the muscle gained during steroid cycles.

Another peptide worth to mention is Bremelanotide. It is the synthetic analogue of Melanotan-II, which is mostly used to make the skin darker. Brem has less of melanocytostimulating activity, but has amplified side effects of the original molecule, namely reduction in appetite, prolonged spontaneous erections and increased endurance in bed. Nobody on this board would care about those, of course  , but... Two slightly annoying sides: 1) facial flushing immediately after the injection which lasts for up to an hour and 2) everybody asking if you have been on holiday lately, because of tanned looking skin.

It would be interesting to hear others' experiences and advice about peptides.

LOL. Mahler is much stronger than I am, but I cannot take his writings seriously. His claim of gaining five pounds in six weeks on Ostarine without increasing calories smells amateurish. Couple of decent meals during the day will push the scale the next morning by more than that. Neither am I capable of agonizing over the number of grams of Citrulline malate or Trans anayl glutamine in pre-workout drink.

SARMs s22 is on the list of experiments for the near future. My friend, a pharmacist who cycles quite a bit, said SARMs affected his prostate: difficulty to pass urine and irritation during the process. I haven't heard much about them otherwise.

And Smet, what's the status of peptides in Oz? Is it like here where they're in a legal limbo until the authorities notice them?

Honest question: is it really that much easier to fiddle with this stuff than it is to get on the pin? Particularly since getting legal T now basically comes down to showing a doctor you're old enough to vote.

Pretty much. You go online, choose what you want and pay, then the prescription is issued to you and voila, you're a happy owner of a vial if two. I suspect authorities will clamp down on it and the business will go underground.

For now tge situation is ridiculous. My daughter was turned away from the tanning salon - I had to write her doctor's referral (for the subbed, for fuck's sake!) But they offered her a course of inhectable Melanotan. Go figure.

So... After the lean out run I mostly lost motivation and started what I like calling a "bulking routine"... in the middle of December my BFF went up to 13.8 on DEXA. A week later I went on holiday which is still in progress. Vienna (beer, schnitzel, goulash, sausages, lots of pastry), Prague (beer, more beer, goulash, pastry), Amsterdam (beer, more beer, some more of some beer - some of it is 9% alcohol - hearty croutons, deep fried stuff... some pot followed by intense munchies containing most food groups). I might have missed a punctuation sign as I am still in Amsterdam for another day. Not boasting, just putting things in perspective. Boasting a little, and strolling through thee Red Light district is the highlight of the trip.

The point of this is that getting lean first is definitely a good idea: I an getting bigger, not training, but my abs are still visible. Sort of, in good lighting.

So... People, lean down before bulking up. So spake Zarathustra.

Where was I... Another point: only wankers who never tried to sort out their body composition can ridicule bodybuilders for being whimps who only have big muscles and no real strength. Leaving aside the fact that their templates are quite serious, uninitiated tend to have no idea about the diet side of this activity. To get to under 10 levels, then stay there for another 12-16 weeks and then starting reverse dieting and gradual increase in calories - this, mu brethren, requires some serious will power. To push away the excuses "it is difficult for me to eat clean at work", "I have to have dinner my wife cooked", "I is crazy/inconvenient/doesn't work to weigh every piece of food I put in my mouth" etc. Or the primal "one Crispy Creme is not going to do any damage".

Bodybuilders are there craziest SOBs there are. The success in which is determined by the ability to lift seriously while managing not to get killed by eating enough calories to maintain body temperature at acceptable levels.

Last week an entire football team was banned after doping a couple of seasons ago and denying it. That saga drew the nation's attention towards them but there are Dr's specialising in prescribing them for all sorts of things and making no secret of it. Like Sangoma said, the TGA (our FDA) is notoriously shit and will crack down further. Even as far back as 2011, I'm pretty sure the import of them was illegal unless you could prove they were legit research chemicals.

After the trip to Amsterdam the status of all kind of substance control in Australia is depressing.

I have a questions re: Bremelanotide. Sorry if it's a lazy one, are you taking it for appearance or does it do other stuff? I could lose the pastiness but am interested in what else your coach may've prescribed it for.
Is this shit pricey is Aus?

The Dutch have all the fucking data on legalization and decriminalization of soft drugs and even on managing the hard drug scene, and it flat out works, and nobody wants to look at it.

There's too much money at stake keeping Prohibition in effect. The Netherlands is a tiny little dot, the USA is a huge market that they can't let slip.

Portugal is another place that demonstrates good results with liberal drug policies. They de-criminalised narcotics, meaning that if you are caught in possession of 5 g of heroine you get a gentle slap on the hand: an administrative fine as opposed to criminal punishment and consequent record. The result - better everything. Decreased drug use in general, more people seeking medical advice for drug related issues, less drug related crime etc.

Brem is my own initiative. Mostly for its appetite reducing effects. It also makes you horny, gives you prolonged strong wood and considerably prolongs action in bed, and turns sex session into a feast (as opposed to an ordinary dinner). But of course, that's absolutely not the reason I would ever, ever take it for :^o

Other side-effects of peptides - dosing of ModGRF/Ipamorelin more than twice a day somewhat reduces libido. Otherwise only good stuff: better sleep, better recovery, more muscle gain, easier fat burn. It is still important to remember that peptides are secondary to a good training and nutrition. Unlike testosterone, they don't allow you to eat shit and gain mostly muscle, you have to take care of other stuff too.

For those who want to get the info from the horse's mouth the best place is DatBeTrue forum: http://www.datbtrue.co.uk

Dat, its founder and owner, has so much curiosity, patience, discipline and energy that the forum is bursting with useful info. Just going through the topics started by him is enough to keep busy for a month. The best place for info on peptides. And many other topics.

I would go this route for recovery. Training and nutrition I'm fine with and I'm not seeking ultimate swolenezz. Peptides aren't roped in with 'roids as potentially fucking with the heart, either?
