Some analysis from last weekends UFC fights

Post by Bram » Tue Nov 07, 2017 3:42 am

I know you degenerates see anal- anything and get frothy, but settle down.

We had 3 cocky champions get knocked out or submitted over the weekend...I wish when I was training karate in high school I would have looked at feints and counters more. I just punched and kicked without any thought to it. Here we have a good look at two different approaches to striking.

Both fights were available in full on youtube, they get yanked but these links are current:

All links bad/wrong but the second, yo
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I figured the youtube links would get pulled quickly, but I did fuck up the gsp vs bisping breakdown. Edited my post to keep it utilitarian.

Cockiness seems to rule the UFC. In September Luke Rockhold was the favorite against Bisping, got cocky and got knocked out. Last UFC was a delight, especially the girls' fight. Deja vu Rhonda vs Holm. Get all angry and furious, get knocked the shit out of a few minutes later.

I really like Dillashaw's style of fighting. In a way reminds me of Chris Eubank - cat-like way of moving, snake-like way of jabbing.

Yeah, Rockhold was unbearable before he fought Bisping. It's like all the fighters saw Conor McGregor's success and copied his arrogant attitude - that ding-dong getting beat by Nate Diaz and Floyd Mayweather, after he talked a mountain of shit, was sweet comeupance.

Dillishaw's quick, deceptive and skilled, but Cody had his number in round 1....it will be interesting to see the rematch.
