For real. Try including some burgers on your variety days.

Welcome, Ericca.

Hi Tom,
I'm training with Bob Shin out of the Krav Maga place in Columbia Md. It was thanks to your suggestion (on dragondoor) that I found the place....so thank you. It's a great class but has shown me just how retarded my left hand is in moving independetly of my right.

Eric

Hey Mickey,
Gs swing is also called a "lazy swing"....Fedorinko showed it to everyone on Saturday although I first read about on Dragondoor in post from Cate and "Fireman Tom". Steve Cotter also features it on his DVD. It's a low one arm swing with a slight pull back, not quiet a high pull, more soft. Cate could give a more detailed description I'm sure. There were little details the Valery featured that really pay off in swings, snatches and jerks for the average non "gs" trainer.

Thanks Eric. I thought it was gs but I didn't know there was a difference. I thought a swing was just a swing. When I perform swings I pull the shoulder back but I go about chest/neck height. I didn't start pulling my shoulder back until I got ETK. Taming the arc and all that stuff.

Thanks again!

Good assessment Eric. When I do 50+ swings with a 24kg bell, they are GS swings. Now, I often will take them higher to work the grip/conditioning more, but they are performed with a bent arm to simulate the snatch trajectory. Also, you are more conscientious of making sure the bell goes further back between your legs to take advantage of the momentum of the swing going back. This is something that I don't always do effectively on the GS swings or snatches and it cost me reps.
