Have you ever practiced any qigong before? Any classes or one on one instruction? I'm interested to get your opinion after you finish this up.

I googled the book by the way. May give it a go if it works for you.

I don't see any overhead squats. Why not?

Essential Qigong (Cohen): Day 2/100

PU/SU 24x3

Mick-- My qigong experience is minimal. I started some occasional practice last fall based off some stuff I learned from Cotter. Other than that, no real instruction and this is my first attempt to be systematic about its practice. The Cohen stuff is mostly standing meditation and some breathing exercises. By the way, the book is actually more like a workbook, and the package consists of 3 DVDs and 5 CDs. You rearrange the tracks like a qigong playlist. I'll let you know how it works; I'm hoping it complements the higher impact type stuff I usually do.

ledfist-- During the off-season I prefer the oft-neglected Rotating Suitcase Prince Albert Deadlift (RSPADL) to the OHS.

MO'-- I'm enjoying it. The Standing/Walking Meditation seems to be very worthwhile. I'm hoping to use qigong as a counterpoint to the high impact activities I usually log. I'm building my volume in both very slowly right now.

Up to 2-3 minutes per stance in the SM at this point. Got Furman's DVD in the mail today; looks interesting.

I'd switch out the standing meditation for the WOD or "Fran." LOL

Steamboat:

Self massage is a good thing and I don't do it. I should know better from training I've shelled out for. How long does that part of the routine take?

Do you do the whole body breathing in sort of a embrace the tree stance
