YRG to warm up. Had some extra birthday money and got a cheap heart rate monitor. Am looking at meeting up w/ some friends from college to do the Napa to Sonoma 1/2 marathon in July, figured between that and YRG, it'd come in handy. Nothing to vigorous and hit 132 max, average was 107 for about 20 min.

Jerks w/ 32s
4 min @ 8 RPMs

OAJ w/ 40
4 min @ 8 RPMs, multiple switchs

Snatch w/ 32
2 min R/2 min L @ 12 RPMs

Some friends of ours shared the audio before Christmas and we found the youtube later. Destressed in Omaha after our flight back to B'more got cancelled drinking vodka/beer w/ our friends who put us up and following the various "kid cussing" links on youtube from that.

I'm good, you?

Today:
YRG class w/ Art, he said there's more YRG DVD's coming out in the spring and he's in these. A couple newbies in class, so he took it relatively easy.

Work went to shit last week and I had a cold for most of it.

Saturday:
YRG class w/ Art. Given it was 5 degrees and the class is at 7:30 a.m., I was half expecting it to be just me and him, maybe another regular who lives up the street from the studio. 11 people showed up!!

Sunday:
Bryan Kest DVD

Monday:
Some YRGish stuff to warm up

Jerks w/ 24s
6 min @ ~ 8 RPMs

OAJ w/ 32
6 min @ 12 RPMs, multiple switches

Snatch w/ 24
3 min R/3 min L @ 12-13 RPMs

Work went crazy again last week.

Tweaked my back last Monday putting water into the humidor of all things, swung the gallon jug of distilled water out at an odd angle. Just been stiff since.

Wed:

20 min YRG to warm up

Jerks w/ 32s
4 min @ 6 RPMs

OAJ w/ 40
4 min @ 8 RPMs, multiple switches

In lieu of snatches, a YRGish circuit

From kneeling, into a lunge, down to plank, down, hold at bottom, child position, everything for a 5 count, then repeat w/ the other leg, 20 min total.

Thurs:
Some yrg, then just did their equivalent of Sun Salutes for 10 min straight

Friday:
Jerks w/ 24s
6 min @ 7 RPMS

OAJ w/ 32
6 min @ 12 RPMs, multiple switches

Health snatch (corrigan's name, 1/2 snatch in AKC speak, I like the former, snatch then lower to the shoulder, easier on the back) w/ 24
3 min R/3 min L fast as possible, probably 13-15 RPMs

Saturday:
YRG class w/ Art - 90 min

Monday:
Jerks w/ 24s
6 min @ 8 RPM

OAJ w/ 32
6 min @ 12 RPM, multiple switches

Health snatch w/ 24
3 min R/3 min L fast as possible, probably 13-15 RPMs

Today:
YRG fat burner DVD (40 min)

Jerks w/ 32s
4 min @ 7 RPM

OAJ w/ 40
4 min @ 10 RPM, multiple switches

Health snatch w/ 32

20 min of fairly vigorous YRG type stuff to warm up

Didn't feel like the regular stuff

30 min of OALC w/ 24
went in w/ the goal of 20 min but a good bit was about to come on the radio. First 15 min was 10 RPMs or so, after that when I decided to go for 30, slowed to probably 8 RPMs on average. Multiple switches, bell didn't touch the floor.

Didn't make it to the YRG class Sat, did the Fat Burner + from the DVD instead.

Sun: 40 min of qi gong

Monday:
Back was stiff, yoga and stretching to loosen it up

Tues:
YRG and med ball workout, tweaked a hammy on literally the last rep w/ the med ball.

Today:
YRG to warm up, including a little circuit of diamond cutter, chair and bend for 15 min

1 arm jerks w/ 24
6 min x 2 w/ 2 min rest in between, probably 15ish RPM

Hammy felt good, tried OALC w/ 24
6 min @ 12 RPM

Will do bands and stretch tonight.

Well back is officially jacked, got progressively tighter Wed. Good news is a steady diet of stretching, hanging from a bar and heat got it to "adjust" last night, felt a pop and it immediately felt better. Now it just feels kinda weak and sore, not locked up.

First pop was around the new year while doing yoga carelessly, second one was about a month ago when I let a gallon jug of water swing awkwardly, then wed it twinged while snatching.

Plan going forward this week is mostly yoga to keep it loose, then I'll take it from there.

Playing w/ the idea of going w/ two days of squatting followed by conditioning circuits, then 2-3 days of achymadness and Sat YRG class. Maybe a day of biking when spring comes in lieu of a day of achymadness.

One thing for sure, gonna focus on double cleans instead of snatches. Will rarely snatch.

Short yoga series every 1-1.5 hours on Thurs and Fri plus hanging from a bar led to a nice adjustment/pop Friday night, then more of the same through the weekend led to two more over the weekend. It's a little stiff in the a.m. but loosens up during the day.

Sunday:
40 min qigong

Today:
about 20 min of basic YRG
