I had a perfect storm of excuses over the last couple of weeks, mostly due to a couple of deadlines for work last week. During this time, I went for a couple of runs, but most of my exercise took the form of my usual walking.

11/5
Goblet squats: 10x60.
DB snatch: (10/10)x45.
DL: 3x(185, 205, 225, 225).
Floor Press: 5x95, (7, 4, 3)x125.
Incline DB BP: (8, 5)x40.
DB Row: (8/8, 6/6)x80.

I've failed to log one trip to the gym and several short runs since my last post, but I haven't otherwise been working out. I'm trying (again) to get back into it.

Yesterday,
DL: 3x(135, 185, 205, 225, 205).
DB BP: (11, 6, 4)x45.
DB Row: (6/6, 5/5, 4/4)x75.
Ran one mile.

Goblet Squat: 10x60
DB Snatch: (10/10)x40
DL: 3x(185, 225, 205, 205)
Floor Press: 5x95, (6, 4, 3)x135
DB Incline BP: (8, 5)x40
DB Row: (6/6, 5/5, 4/4)x75
The following three all used the same cable machine w/ rope attachment.

In other news, my makiwara broke a little while ago. I have the boards for a new one cut, and I've rubbed a couple coats of oil on them. I'll put at least one more coat on, and hopefully get them in the ground this weekend.

I'm getting over a cold that my daughter brought home from somewhere, and my schedule continues to be out of whack. I need to change what I'm doing so that I can better fit workouts into the rest of my life. I think I'm going to aim for one trip to the gym per week; and then run, hit the heavy bag, etc. whenever I have 20 or 30 minutes in the morning.

Today at the gym,
DL: 3x(185, 225, 225, 225, 205, 205).
DB BP: (8, 6, 4)x50.
DB Incline BP: (6, 5)x40.
DB Row: (7/7, 5/5, 4/4)x75.
Pulls to face: (13, 10)x100.
Incline Sit-ups: 15, 8, 5.

I've gone on a few short runs with our dog since my last entry.

Today in the basement,
2 minutes hitting the heavy bag, followed by a mae geri drill* (10 times per leg). I repeated this four times.
Then KB C&P: (5/5, 4/4, 3/3, 2/2, 1/1)x24 kg.

*The mae geri drill is my basement version of a drill I remember Sugiyama using. It starts with the knee of the kicking leg on the ground. The kick then drives up into a target, in my case a second heavy bag, that's about 30 degrees off vertical.

I did at least one heavy-bag and achyball session since my last entry that I didn't log. I also went for a few short runs with our dog.

Last Thursday, 3/21, I went to the gym and did the following:
DL: 3x(135, 185, 205, 225, 205).
Floor Press: 5x95, (10, 6, 4)x125.
DB Row: (7/7, 5/5, 4/4)x75.
Incline sit-ups: 15, 8.

Went for a short run on Tuesday, 3/19.

Yesterday, 3/21, I was back in the basement.
2 minutes hitting the larger heavy bag, followed by 2 minutes of kicking drills on the smaller bag. Repeated 4 times. I practiced mae geri starting with my back knee on the ground for the first 2 rounds, and then worked on roundhouse for the 2nd 2.
KB C&P: (5/5, 4/4, 3/3, 2/2, 1/1)x24 kg.
