Finding the path again
Sunday Dec 12
Romanian Deadlifts: 225x5, 255x5, 285x5. Left grip fail, back and legs felt fine.
EZ bar curl 90#, FCT 50#, 3x10 as assistance.
Judo has been rare, unfortunately. Combination of a lot of things, but in reality - those who want to do something will find a way. Those who do not, will find excuses. I want to find the way again. Lifting compromised by rotator cuff rehab time, which has been completed and feeling fine. Dropped back on the poundage, will come back in a hopefully non-stupid manner.

Sat Dec 18
Squats: 170 x 3, 195 x 3, 220 x 10
Boring but big: Squats 130 4 x 10, alt with
Situps, 4 x 30
8 hours in ER to follow. Don't feel as rubbery legged as last round of squats, which had been the first in a while. Hopefully the DOMS won't be as miserable. Also hoping there is no activity requiring running in the ER tonight.

Re: Finding the path again
How are you liking the new judo digs? How about WS in general?
Re: Finding the path again
W-S is a nice town, the new job is a great fit. The judo - the practices are only twice a week, and later enough in the evening that I get home after the kids have been put to bed. Not so good on a number of levels, and since my job schedule is fairly random, twice a week can get wiped out pretty easily. I am considering the BJJ club that trains at the same location - more practice times = more chances I can get to the mat. The judo club itself is good people, it's only the schedule that is giving me troubles.

Sun Dec 26
Staying with the folks. 30 min on an old elliptical, light branch and log hauling. Tried some wood splitting, quit when my gloves froze to the maul handle.

Mon Dec 27 - Judo back at the old dojo. Ground fighting, 6 rounds. Skill has rusted, compensating with muscle - not ideal.

Re: Finding the path again
Dude. You need to start checking in at the BJJ class. Any mat time is good time.
I'm a worthless fook who gets about an hour once a week and I'm glad for it.

Re: Finding the path again
Mon Jan 3
Bench Press, 165 x 5, 185 x 3, 210 x 5
Rope triceps, kb cleans for assistance
Tues Jan 4
Elliptical 30, bike 30
Wed Jan 5
Judo - had a great practice until the end. Started working a left sided seoi otoshi off the lapel grip - left sided throws have been completely non-existent in my repertoire, figured this would be a good complement to my usual stuff. Brief randori on the mat, then standing. Unfortunately, there is a decent probability I broke my big toe - caught it on the mat, rolled under with my body weight on it. This may interfere with squat day tomorrow.

Toe is progressing - still painful with movement, but OK with static weightbearing. With tape, squats were just fine.
185#x5, 210#x3, 235# x 10
Assistance: more squats (ala boring but big) 130# 4 x 10, alt with situps (35,35,30,30)
