I grok that. I was more worried about my grip than my speed. I'll use straps next session.

I'd also like to add that I think Guinness Black Lager has ruined me for all other beers. Much like the Amazon has ruined in regards to all other women.

There's something to be said when you come in from the gym and she lays a big ole sloppy kiss on me and tells to get in the shower and get ready.

try singles and doubles. see which results in more speed towards the end.... i think jack suggested doubles? not sure. I'd keep the vol lower on any account. i'm not very fast and haven't trained it, my speed improves slightly until about 5-6 sets and then slowly nosedives. in any case, terminate as the speed drops off... even if that is 3 sets.

I thought he recommended doubles as well but this was my triples week so I ran with it. I can see where 3 is not as efficient as doubles. Doubles and maybe a few singles will help get my mind right for my opener at the Metro Highlander.

I'm building momentum, eating like a bastard, and drinking more than I should but everything is looking good.

10-23

Spent the day with the family, walked around the park, and walked the dogs.

10 or 12 South Africans with the 16# shot. Tried to coach the Amazon on her Braemar. Like the blind leading the blind. I think she's got potential. I just hope I don't mess her up.

Distance wasn't bad. Had a couple over 30 easy but most were 28 to 30 or less. Called it quits when my distance dropped 3 throws in a row.

10-24

12+ hour day at work. No real off days this weekend so I'm pushing the schedule back a day.

The Amazon is in season. Her hormonal milieu is off the charts and is trying to suck all my life force out of me over the past 3 days. I told her tonight that if I'd known spending time around in kilted men would affect her this way I would have started throwing years ago.

Well things may change but then again they may not. The Amazon's van decided it was done being her bitch and dropped it's transmission today. We could go get a new car but we just don't want the extra bill right now so we are going to make a run at being a single vehicle household. We've done it before but I had a company vehicle (patrol car) to drive back and forth to work.

I don't know this going to affect my lifting schedule if it does at all but I think this is an excellent chance to up my practical cardio i.e. lots of running, walking, and biking as a means of locomotion rather than just training.

I'm seriously considering making the EZ plan a 2 day a week gym template, 1 day a week of cattleballs with more of hardstyle focus for Games applications, bodyweight training just because I need it, and lots of throws in my spare time.

Gotta kick this around and see what falls out.

I'm not really stressing over this simply because this could be a serious money saving deal. 1 less car to have insurance on, 1 less car to maintain, and 1 less car to put gas in. But if I get run out of town I'll have to buy a new car no matter what, since the out of town jobs are 45 and 80 miles away.

Out.

Dropped the car off for an oil change and enjoying a nice walk.

Going to change some stuff next cycle. I think the double overhand no hook work is great for overall grip strength but it kills my pull. So I need to alternate sessions with no hook and hook. No hook when I want to keep it light and hook when I'm shooting for heavy weight. The problem is my body doesn't always agree with my plans.

Snatches and cleans are going to start coming from the high hang.

And since I'm not looking to do an OL meet anytime soon they may take a back seat but I miss em when I drop em. May just ease up on the intensity and work with a bit lighter weight.

I've got some serious low back/glute issues that are making me move around like an old man. Tried rolling out my glutes but I need more work.

Throws, hammer walks, and BBQ tomorrow. Complexes, speed deads, and t bar rows Sunday.

1 week from the Metroflex Highlander. Conditioning returns after this.

barbell complex
deadlift, clean hi pull from hi hang, push press, back squat, behind the neck push press, front squat
95-115-135-155-175 x3

225-275-325-375 doubles 2 rds
225-275-325 doubles 1 rd
t bar rows
135 x10 180 x8 225 x6 270x4 315 x2 (more fail than not) 135 x15 strict

Drank way too much last night. I'm done for a while.

this won't build monster grip but it will keep it solid.

take all your warm ups overhand and work sets with mixed, hook or straps. i do the same with barbell rows. it works well

Roger that.

I've been doing my cleans and deads double overhand no hook up to failure but being the asshole that I am I believe I've taken it too far.

Today I strapped up for all of my speed deads. They felt good. The 375 was too slow 2nd time through so I dropped it on the 3rd.

11-5

snatches from hi hang
95-115-135-155-175 x2
155 2x5
squat
5 × 160
5 × 200
3 × 240
5 × 260
5 × 300
7 × 340 5 was the suck, 6 was less suck, 7 was extra suck
incline dumbell press
90# dbs
2x8 1x11
conditioning
8'
6 rds
10 hand to hand swings
5 1 arm lockout pushups on the bell
was supposed to be 70%. swings were about 50%, push ups were about 90% so it averages out.

And since I can't seem to keep the stupid out of my training. I forgot my Chucks and so squatted in my oly shoes. That is probably more of the problem with my squat than anything. No more oly shoes for squats.

11-7

box squat
315#
1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-12
Got a little dizzy on 10 and I should have stopped there but nooooo. 12 was slower than it should have been and I thought I was going to pass out if I did anymore so I racked it just in time get that sweet smell of ammonia in my nostrils.

military press
155#
1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-10

45 degree back extension
15 no weight
3x8 45# bar

standing twists
50 45# bar nice and slow
I was supposed to do Romanian deadlifts but my back was toast. This didn't feel easy.

Got in a hurry and put my briefs on as soon as I hit the gym so I said forget the cleans for today.
