3:11:07 is a smokin' time Mario. 26 miles at under 7:20 pace is no joke. Strong work! :prayer:

I'm hoping to go under 3.5 hours some time next year if I can fit in the training time.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

Old post, I know, but I couldn't have done that going downhill. Awesome.

Participated and completed the Beirut Marathon today.

Horrible conditions - heavy rain, plus was on the job, but we all had an awesome time.

Great run Mario. Can you run a Marathon that doesn't get rained on?

What is your training like to crank out 3 hour marathons?

:-k Come to think of it lol..
Alfred_E._Neuman wrote:What is your training like to crank out 3 hour marathons?
I will be honest with you, I have a natural inclination towards running, and my training for the past year has not been that organized or as structured as it should be. Furthermore this was a run with literally 3 days notice.

Having said that my training is a modified version of a plan found at a book by Pete Pfitzinger’s and Scott Douglas’s called Advanced Marathoning. I can post it here if you want to have a look. It's mostly VO2+max oriented.

From a running viewpoint Beirut was an easy route as its mostly flat with the exception of a small hilly finish of a few miles.

It was also a unique route, because we were going through streets that the day before had barricades manned by armed militia, matter of fact on one of the streets we went through was where the head of the Lebanese intelligence bureau died in a bomb attack this past October.

Light jog - 5 miles 35 minutes and change

Reflex hand-to-hand work with a partner. Good day all in all and feeling great.
