This week is week four, so the end of my first cycle back. What I've learned:

I need to get used to training again, making it a priority.

I need to stretch more.

Again, and as always, I need to be patient with the weights. Heavy things will come, but not right away.

Losing weight is the number 1 need right now, whether or not it's my top priority.

Monday: snatch 50,50,60,60,70,70,80,80x2, 90x1
BS 70,110,150,170x3
Press 70x5x3sets

Thursday
Cleans 70,70,90,90,100x2
One leg squats 2x10. Exhausted.

I got caught up on a lot of work, but still have things to do to be ahead.

The next four weeks will be three lifting days and three conditioning days. Doubles really started to fuck with me. As EZ has noted: too much medium work drains you.

Today, a.m. Warm up and stretch during the women's hour.

P.m.
Power snatch ( shoulders aren't quite there yet for the full movement, neither is the body)50,60,70,80,90x2

BS 70,120,170,190,200x3. These felt great. I'm going to let my squats go up for the next month or two and not worry about high reps unless I feel like it. 230x3 is a possibility for my 39th birthday in January.

Sn grip press: 70x5x5. First set sucked, but I need to get that position hammered down tight.

Single leg Deadlift w/ 32 5x5. Not too bad, left side was more difficult. I need to see the Chiro.

Stretched and rolled. Mother-fuck the big black rumble roller.

Felt good tonight despite bad diet at the Amish Markets. I blame Jezzie.

PC 70,80,90,100,110,120x2
Rdl 120x10x3sets
Bulgarian split squat 3x10

Stretch

I also stretched in the morning.

Goal for tomorrow is some sort of cardio.

Went out to the garage with a couple of women, one of whom did a squat triple of 100 kilos, the other of whom is hot, Australian, and has a Deadlift Crush on BD.

Clean and Press the log: 65x2, 120x2, 156x2, 185x2, 205x2, 225x2, 245x1, 265x1. Beer and pizza followed, watched football and WSM.

Power snatches 50,55,60,65,70,75,80,85,90x2. Felt great.

BS 135,225,315,405x3. In the power rack using American weight. Felt horrible. We had a lot of people here and I was coaching, therefore resting too much.

Push press 135,185,225,245 x3

Eh. I'll eat later.

Good day today; I trained earlier than normal as a friend came up after a trip to DC.

Cleans: 70,80, 90, 100, 110, 120 x2 (only one at 120)

FS 120x3x5 sets, positioning more than anything else

RDL 120, 130, 150, 170 x5

Attention to the diet is helping. I'm moving better, and noticing, slowly, weight changes. Still, my daily diet is more in the 2-3 range than the 4-5 range (out of 5).

Lately, my ability to lift the shit I do as easily as I can encourages me. I'd still like to total 320 and go to Nationals again. Being able to clean 120 with barely a dip in the catch and snatch 90 the same way indicates that, once my shoulders are more flexible and I lose 20 pounds, I should be able to easily do a 110 snatch and a 150 clean and jerk. Those are sound starting maxes for a run at a 300 total in 12 months.

Busy night in the gym tonight, I was unfocused and pissed.

Anyway: Ironmind Axle Deadlifts: 143x3, 253x3, 363x1, missed 400 because I'm too fat to get in position.

Then, for shits and giggles, we put the eagle Loops on the Texas Power Bar and did deadlifts. 70kgx3, 120kgx3, 160x3, 200x1, 210x1. My buddy did 272 kilos

Then I did 2x20 each arm one arm KB press with the 20 kg bell, then I did some Rolling Thunder deadlifts.

I'm doing an Oly Seminar in Sparta, NJ this Saturday, so I might get some lifting in there.

I have no idea how to embed. I am a fucktard.

I've spent the last couple weeks doing light running for short distances, walking, high rep KB snatches, jumping rope, stretching, etc. I feel pretty good. Saturday I added in Squats: 70, 120, 140, 160 kg x5. First time, I think, in about 15 months I've squatted? My legs are in serious DOMS hell right now.

Yesterday: Snatched 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 x3 (again, first time in a very long while). Squats 70, 120, 160 x5; press 70, 80, 80 x5

Finisher: one arm KB swings x40, swithed ont he 10s; then 20 ring rows. x3. It was a nice little way to start back. Today is supposed to be LSD. I plan to walk or airdyne vigorously.

Yesterday I did a jump rope ladder. I was encouraged at first, then it sucked.

Today, cleans- I can't rack the bar. Need flexibility.

Frpnt Squats- rackign them sicked. These are flexibility work.

Snatch grip behind the neck presses- 3x10. Not too hard, juts getting back to it and doing something vs. doing nothing.

Battling ropes as the finisher; 30/15 for 5 minutes. No stretching or rolling.

Two Arm LCCJ tonight, 100 reps, 16 kg kbs. Heart rate wasn't high, but it was elevated.

Pulled, for fun, some weight on a 3 inch axle. I did... 200, 300, and 380. Mixed grip, no thumb. Like I said, just for fun.

Stretched and rolled.

Quick training Friday: jerks from the rack 70,90,100 kgx2x2, db bench 3x8, single leg DL. This weekend I'll see SYAIGH, Really Big Strong Guy, and BD. probably more drinking and learning than training.

Busy weekend, but the worst part of it was Monday and Tuesday. Felt like shit, didn't know why. Feverish, couldn't focus. I have a failure of recognizing when I get sick.

Monday was a joke, snatched very light, squatted light, didn't stretch much.

Tuesday I did train, a med ball cicrcuit, about 200 reps.

Wednesday felt much better. Cleans 70, 90, 100 x2x2. Elbows got around ont he cleans, which didn;t happen last week withthe 100. Stretching and focusing on their mobility is paying off. Finisher: 5 minutes of battling rope.
