Swings or one arm long cycle are good substitutions for running. Nightman also recommends step ups to a low box for time.

I fooled around with a sand bag, the sand bag is 138lbs. I did not let it hit the ground 1:30 then I rested for 30. I did 3 sets like that the last one turned into me just holding it.

wrestling, it went real well my stamina is starting to come around. I have some wind after a hard fight take down that I can start to put some moves together.

Something I found funny is that the kid that I wrestle thought that i was about 31 to 33. When I told him I was 42 he could not get over it. I think he thinks you die at 40. I have made the turn to 1/2 d-bag. I was having a hard time with my shorts coming down or if I tied them real tight them getting twisted. So I got some mma shorts. Not just any USMC mma shorts. They work great. I think I will get one more pair of the mma shorts and I will become a full on d-bag.

wrestling, free style is going ok. My stamina is getting better and better. My mat strength is getting great.

I am not happy with wrestlinggear.com, I got some matman kneepads one drill in, the pad started to rip out. as soon as I saw they were ripping on the stitch where the pad is stitched to the sleeve I took them off. I sent them back, they do not send me new ones they say matman has to give the ok first. I do not care what goes on between wrestlinggear.com and matman. I got them from wrestlinggear.com they need to ship me the new ones.

The guy I talked to on the phone did not know what he was talking about and when he went to check he must have just put me on hold. I had the new knee pads that night. I am very happy with how they took care of it.

wrestling free style. It was fun was trying a bunch of new stuff.

I did not say this in my last post but I broke my nose on the 7th, it has been broke a bunch of times so it was no big deal. As I took the kid down I hit it on his back. it bleed some but not much it stopped very quick, did not hurt. the next day I did not get the full on black eyes just shadows. I pinched it back in place as much as I could. then me and the kid started to wrestle again.

I can not wait to get back to folk style. The tournament I am going to do is in july.

I have a bully now. I think he is all of 4 or 5 years old. When we go live we have been rotating around, since we started free style the little kids have been staying on our side. You try and get a new partner each go. That little kid follows me around wanting to partner up, and tells me he is going to slam me and pin me.

Work has been sucking up all my posting time, so just a quick catch up. Training and wrestling have been going good. we are back to folk, I am happy about that. I have two new training partners one is the heavy weight, he goes about 270, is about 17 or18. The other is the older brother of the kid I have been wrestling, 205 and about 18. He has been out because he broke his leg. I have liked wrestling him because of his leg I can not do some of my best moves. Like when someone shoots I like to sprawl, cross face away from me, grab the far ankle, pull it to me and spin. With his leg I can not do that so I have been working other things, it has been good for me. Wrestling the 270 kid has been ok, I have not had the balls to take any shots yet. I think the high single to the college double is there. If I miss I get crushed, so thats whats been holding me back.

my weight is down to 203. 5lbs is not that much but I keep getting you look so thin. I think the weight is being redistributed. the word my mom used was puffy, you do not look as puffy in the face. I am not sure how I like that. It was haed work getting puffy. I have lost a lot of gym strength, my mat strength is up. The thought of my gym strength going down kills me.
