Monday 24/12/12

P90X chest and back, ab ripper x

Then a impromptu beach workout, whilst walking at the beach there was a load of washed up logs and tree stumps so I set about lifting them as many times as I could, done this with the kids for about an hour, was great fun:

It was Mickey, got the kids involved too.

Wednesday 26/12/12

Kettleweights and bodyweight:

Some dead hangs from bar 2x1 main, then 3 x 5 neutral grip pull ups
Double swing 5x5 with 24 kg bells
Pushup x 20 ( I suck real bad at pushups, its embarrassing)
Lunges 5 x 40' with 20' rest between each set
Plank 5 x 30'
Clean and press 3x10/10

Going to the in-laws for a couple of days, going to try and fit a snatch and pullup workout in before I go.

Purple belt in BJJ - was my goal for last year, hopefully I will succeed this year.

Training wise my goals are to use the training tools at hand not the ones I want to have:

Bodyweight:

Solid free standing handstand
20+ pull ups
One arm pushups
200 Hindu squats
1 arm chin up
Standing an wheel roll outs

Kettle bell:

200 snatches with the 24 kg bell in ten minutes

Sandbag:

10 mins shoulder and squats with 70kg nonstop

Reposting my goals here, I have been and still am laid up with flu, proper flu as well been ill since the 28th, never been this unwell in a long time, should probably start getting my flu jab every year as I'm an asthmatic and in as high risk category.

BJJ, drilled a mount and side control escape, principle of connection was there main point driven home. No rolling today, my chest is still not right anything above drilling sets me off into a coughing fit.

BJJ, worked on two side control escapes that Leo demonstrated when he was over last year, really good solid stuff. We then moved into three butterfly guard positions all linked together, very simple movements. I rolled tonight for the first time in three weeks and I felt pretty good, my chest is still not right yet but I couldn't hold back any longer.
