Powerlifting Training

Post by Beer Jew » Sun Oct 14, 2012 11:32 pm

Got a new meet coming up. I'd like to hit a 6xbw total without a belt. That would include a 230kg deadlift, 110kg bench and 170kg squat at 83-85kg bodyweight.

All training will be done beltless.

Interested to watch this. Be careful of rack pulls. Better to pull less than your 1RM for some reps from just below your low sticking point than a limit single. One builds strength, one tests it.

Thanks PL54. I'll do that next rack pull session.

GBPF one in December. Can't remember exact name. I need to email them to sign up and also renew my GBPF insurance.

Cheers.. I didn't even mean to lose the weight. Just didn't have much time to eat, and wasn't hitting much volume in the gym. How's your training going?

If it's the one up north then it's quite a good un... My training is all over the place at the moment. I just wanted to play about at stuff in the summer, but now it's getting cold and I have no real plan or aims to be honest, so I'm just spinning my wheels for a bit - some lifting, some running and some stretching. Truth be told life is a bit busy to focus on owt else at the moment, so as long as I hang in and do a bit I'm happy enough.

16.10.2012

Deadlifts: (with a belt): 190kg x 3 singles

Paused squats: (no belt): 100kg: 3x3

BNPP: (no belt): 100kg: 2 singles

Bench: 60kg x 10, 70kg x 10, 80kg x 5,5,5, 90kg x 1

Messed around after, did a bunch of 1 and 2 armed snatches with 50 kg, maybe 20 snatches in total.
