Fair question. If I raise the dose of magnesium, the sleep issues go away but sometimes I shit myself. Shitting myself isn't appealing to colleagues and customers so I have to back it down.

Slow mag has helped with this a lot. When I went to 150 % daily dose the sleep issues abated without the side effects. Slow Mag uses MgCl2. Most mag supplements are MgO, which is a known laxative.

Insomnia is a well known side effect of low carb. I already had a tendency, both of my parents were insomniacs. You do what you gotta do.

To amplify on Nafod's question... a lot of food allergy sufferers learn a primitive kind of scientific method known as the "white diet". We eat what is known not to cause problems.

If I get enough Magnesium I sleep well. If I don't I will be miserable. Imagine being itchy and restless all night long.

I see my doctor twice a year. We go over these things. I'm one of two of his patients who do this sort of thing. Both of us have eliminated the need for cholesterol and blood pressure medication.
