Before eating Glucose 98 mg/DL

Drank some protein powder in water. (minimal sugars)

Did morning Amosovs

Immediately took measurement 106 mg/DL

All of this occurred in a fifteen minute period.

No explanation for the increase in measured blood sugar.

Sept 8 2013 - Amosovs(15)

Six hours later - PTP style Deadlifts (five minute wait between sets) 1x5x145, 2x5x185 Form was crummy on 185. I'll back off twenty pounds and smooth it out.

Tried one Side press on either side with 45lb bar. It was close to max effort. I'll work up to it, I'm not getting burned like last time. 2x5x16lb Side press

Post workout numbers (after weights)

Glucose - 95 mg/DL

beta Ketones - 0.8 mMol/L (which is the bottom end of the "therapeutic range").

Important Note - I ran across some Ketostix today. My urine did NOT change the color of the stick. Either the sticks are bum or I'm no longer dumping ketones.

Adding more fats to the diet as I approach target weight. I now weigh around 188 pounds. Mainly Olive oil and Coconut oil.

Sept 10 2013 - Amosovs(17) Pushups are somewhat easier.

Some DOMS no more than I have experienced in the past and almost pleasant. Per Finney and Volek recovery is faster on Keto because "less Reactive Oxygen Species on Muscle wall cell membranes" than when you "burn glucose". Who knows though?

Amosovs reduce "tightness" to a minimum.

Evening.

DL 1x145x5, 3x185x5, 3x205x3 (I could not locate plates smaller than 25 lbs.. they'll turn up sooner or later).

SP 2x35x5

I also did some "commando kicks" post workout for fun. Kick your hand, that sort of thing.

Let's see if I can get any sleep tonight. Last time I did DLs I was up half the night.

Thanks, Tim!

Sept 20 2013 - Amosovs(16)

Diet contains fermented foods, especially naturally fermented pickles. I have learned that daily consumption of these is essential. Otherwise I will have problems with digestion and concentration/focus.

Cramping at night continues to be an issue. Magnesium balance is tough. Too little and I cramp. Too much and I get to live in the bathroom. I am considering using more green vegetables instead of supplements. I'll advise.

Increased consumption of coconut oil.

Only sugars are in beef jerky and a tiny piece of Baker's chocolate. I can make a four ounce bar last a week.

There is a respiratory disease going around work. I do not seem to have caught it. Speculate that the coconut oil and fermented veggies are helping. Perhaps it is an almost total absence of sugar?

Choosing whole foods over supplements is of course usually the best course, but given the levels of soil depletion, and the state of municipal water supplies (ground water used to be a significant source of human mineral consumption), you may wish to consider this:

Thanks, Freep. I've been amping up the Spinach big time. We'll see. The issue with Magnesium is balancing out the cramps with diarrhea. It's a tough balancing act but fermented foods seem to get the job done without going too far in each direction. Issue there is finding cukes to ferment, they're too darned big for DYI. I'm not discouraged but want to pass the word on to others.

I love Kimchi, Koko. It's great stuff. I dare not eat it at work though. You know why... Pickles? Nobody gives them a second glance. At home I will eat the stuff.

Oct 1 2013 - Amosovs(17)

On Sept 28 one hour post meal

Glucose 107 mg/DL
Ketones 0.2 mMol/L

Moving towards eating more fat, less protein. Amped it up.

One hour post meal

Glucose 94 mg/DL
Ketones 0.9 mMol/L

Plan to keep on adding more fat, less protein, to get a good consistent Ketone level.

Weight is hovering around 185 pounds.
