Looking good! Do you have a pace/time goal for the race?

Thanks! I would like to come in around a 12 min/mile pace. I rarely if ever get to run in temps below 75 now and humidity. It may be in the 60s in Falmouth at least at the start, so that pace may be doable. If it is in the 70s, then I'll be happy to just do it in under 90 min. It's my first race of any kind. I'll be running with a couple of friends and I think that may help.

Tuesday Am

4 miles. For most of it I ran 2 min/walked 1 min.

12:32/mi avg. finished in just over 50 min. Felt slow today probably because my sleep sucked last night. Although the first mile was the slowest.

One more run before the race in Falmouth. I seem to like the 12:30ish pace.

Sunday

Falmouth Road Race in Falmouth, MA

7 Miles - 1:33:09. I made a minor error. I ran the first 1.5 miles without walking I think just trying to stay with my small group vs. staying with a run/walk ratio. I then switched to the run/walk. Running 1-3 min and usually walking 1 min. I passed them when they stopped for the bathroom and they caught up with me probably just past the 10K mark - so it worked out as we had intended to finished together.

Great race in terms of organization. Over 12000 runners. I would do it again. Hopefully I'll weigh even less next time - this wouldn't have been fathomable 2 years ago.

Wednesday early afternoon

5K Row - 24:15

Thursday AM

10:40 is probably the fastest non-treadmill mile I have run since the age of 15.

Monday Afternoon

KB work

3 X 15/15 Push Press @ 16kg
1 X 30/30 Swings @ 20kg

Thursday Am

2 mile run/walk. 22:36. Evenly paced - each mile 11:18

Ran 2:30 min/walked 1 min with maybe a shorter run interval towards the end. Tried to speed up the running portions and was covering 1/4 mile in 2:25 on some intervals.

Very warm and muggy. Supposed to be cooler Saturday and I wil try a 5k then.

Sunday Am

5K Run - First mile 10:16 and no walking. Slowed the next 2 significantly (around 12:24 each). Still ended up with a PR for 5K - 36:24. I think if I even out my pacing and follow a 2:30- 3 min run/ 1 min walk I'll be able to improve that easily.

Friday - off traveling

Saturday

5K on Oklahoma River Trail - ~36 min - First 2 miles were decent - Run .25 mile/walk one min. They were under 12 min. Last one was slower and took more frequent walk breaks. It was warm and I was hungover.

Monday

5K Row - 23:38

Tuesday Am

2 Mile Run - 21:21. No walking - 10:40 for both miles. I will switch to walking intervals on Thursday and see if I can work to increase my speed. What a difference 30 degrees makes (it was 52 vs 82 on Saturday). Saturday I'll try another 5K in one of coming in around 34 min.

5 Min Rest

Saturday AM

5K Run/walk - Run 1 min/walk 30s - pretty strict on this and if anything some of the walks were shorter. 34:47 - 11:11 per mile avg. PR at least since I've been an adult.
