I am slowly coming to realize two key things-

1. The minimum effective dose, over a long period of time is what I need
2. Consistency trumps all

I like my simple- "Run, Hinge, Press, Pull" program. It helps me feel good on the mat, as well as at home relaxing, and at work, too. I will never be a champion at anything (except maybe writing Perl code at work), but I do feel like I'm "winning at life," with this. My BP is good, I feel good enough to do whatever I want, I feel great on the Mat and my fears and anxiety are dissipating.

Pressing that bell felt weightless today. Another two weeks swinging and pressing the 24 and I'll get a 32.

I'm kind of off to a rocky start, as blue belt LOL, I woke up Christmas Eve and noticed an itchy patch down on my jaw under the left side of my beard.

Fucking Ringworm.

So I've been avoiding the mat and treating it with Lotrimin, and it's healing. I should be able to get back to class on Monday.

Get a doorway chinning bar to balance the pressing. You can also use any type of ghetto TRX rig for balance for 1/1, 2/2, 3/3 pistols between swings.
Change pushups to Arm Bars or Windmills to help your shoulders deal with the stress of submissions.
