Terry's WORST NIGHTMARe!!

I'll be using this log to primarily document my adventures along Shaftasticles 50/20 deadlift routine;
1 395x50/20
2 405x50/20
3 415x50/20
*one note here...I would do weeks 1-3 WITH a 2" barbell.
-switch-
4 Work up to an RPE 9 triple
5 Work up to triple, +10lb from last week.
6 Work up to a triple, +10lb from last week.
-switch
7 455x1/20 (SOTM)
8 465x1/20 (SOTM)
9 475x1/20 (SOTM)
-switch
10. Work up a RPE 9 triple
11. Work up to a triple +10lbs from last week.
12. Test.

Bench:

105kg / 231lbs - 46 reps in 20 minutes

3" Deficit Barbell Rows:

120kg / 264lbs - 50 reps in 10 minutes

What is your current bw? You can use kilos as I am not from the colonies! Your 50/20 with the bench nearly makes me want to try that with 105-110kg.All the best for your deadlift adventure.

Bobby, I'm probably around 95kg at the moment. My waist is quite a bit larger than I'd like right now so I probably have 5-8kg to lose without it affecting strength.

I'd like to push the 50/20 up to 115kg in the next 12 weeks. I've done 9x3 with 115 in a single session which is my best volume workout on the bench thus far. 50/20 would be roughly double that volume.

Strict Press:

75kg / 165lbs - 41 reps in 17 minutes

High-Bar Squat:

140kg / 308lbs - 30 reps in 15 minutes. A double on the minute, every minute.

Slingshot Bench:

120kg x 3
130kg x 1
140kg x 1
145kg x 1 = PR

Dips:

+25kg / 55lbs x 3,3,3,3,3

180kg / 396lbs - 50 reps in 15 minutes

Dan John said that replacing his hip helped him slim down. You may want to try that and see what happens.

Isn`t BJ in his 20s? Seems early to replace bodyparts at that age.

Wednesday 24th June:

Bench Press:

100kg / 220lbs - 50 reps in 20 minutes
120kg / 264lbs - 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 (Last rep with a 2sec pause = 10kg PR)
Slingshot - 130kg x 3, 140kg x 1 Paused

Curls:

42kg / 92.4lbs - 42 reps in 10 minutes

Deadlift (Thick Bar):

185kg / 407lbs - 35 reps in 15 minutes.

Ran out of time on deadlifts. Will have to pick up on Friday.
