2019.05.06PM; two laps around Queen Kapiʻolani Park in Waikīkī (~3.5 miles) clockin' the hoes. Stretched and bounced off for a martini and tasteful banter.

We had a cold front push through over the weekend so I bagged on swimming, too cold for a pussy like me.

2010.05.11AM; had a crushing workload this week as a big, multi-year project came to a crescendo. All went well, so I collect a big bonus and continue with training now. I went back and forth in my mind as to whether I should just skip the missed workout or pick up where I left off, which is ultimately what I decided to do.

2019.05.20PM; ran a couple of laps around Queen Kapiʻolani Park in Waikīkī, about 3.5 miles, then walked another lap for a total of ~5 miles or so.

I should have stretched afterward, but didn't, so I did a 20 minute session of joint mobility and active stretching in the evening.

...this workout turned out to be a clusterfuck. It was hot as balls, my arms were torched from yesterday, and my back didn't feel very good so I bagged doing some rows, which were programmed but skipped.

By the end I was questioning whether this type of assistance work is for me, but I will try to salvage things.

I have never done the PTE before and my triceps blew up like balloons from it (good) but my neck and shoulders were killing me afterward (bad). Was supposed to do some pushups to finish this workout up but the tri's were shutting down so I left them off.

Hey Kaz! Always nice to see a familiar face. I don't know what you're up to these days but I would love to see IGX reach its potential as it's the ONLY not-for-profit, unmoderated fitness forum on the web. If you're still training, post a log and participate. The world needs serious haoles.

To answer your question, I have not been training much jiu-jitsu since February; after 21 years I felt like I just wanted to try some other things for a while. I am not sure if or when I will go back to it, as I've started doing some standup martial arts and am enjoying being the student again. We'll see. Right now, aside from the MA I'm trying to get a li'l bit serious about barbell training and some running/swimming/hiking type shit.

What are you up to brah?

I can understand the need to step away after that length of commitment. White belts are the envy of the black belts in that everything is fresh, new, and exciting to the beginner. Hard to look through that same lens after two decades.

I am good, myself. Just working and getting ready to start putting two daughters through college.

Glad to see your training journey continue.
