I saw that you're thinking about a stationary bike. I got a MaxKare magnetic bike --

https://www.maxkare.net/product.php?key=DB-MKD901

It's magnetic resistance on a 40 lb flywheel, belt instead of chain drive. That makes it almost silent. It has a smooth pedaling action and the resistance adjustment is by turning a knob. It may not have enough resistance for someone who likes to hammer really hard but I haven't gotten to a high setting yet as the low setting is plenty for me right now. It's physically really solid. I weigh 225 and there's no flexing or creaking of the frame and no wobble either, it feels really solid while riding. The saddle isn't great as it's a padded wide seat, not like a beach cruiser seat but not like a road bike either. It works okay but I'll probably get a proper seat at some point. The handlebars have a thick foam covering which feels good and there are several options for hand positioning. Overall it does what I need: I just get on Clyde and ride, nothing to mess with and it's super quiet and no fuss. The computer has been iffy which is the only thing keeping this bike from 5 star status.

Nice. Many thanks for the rec. And the price looks pretty good as well.

LOL....I was on the east coast. Mostly in New York but travelling about. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, etc. Visiting college towns.

Two covid tests and two weeks of work from home later and I have survived my dangerous ways.
