5.19.19

1. Rode Briar Chapel trails x 2 hours 50 minutes @ 16.5 miles.

I was not prepared for the heat. It was in the low to mid 90s. Hardly drank any water before going out and did not eat anything. Thought I was going to have to push it back to the house. Pretty sure I had slight heatstroke. I'll be better prepared next time.

Hoping to start the new Baron Baptiste yoga on the regular tomorrow. Been crazy busy.

6.4.19

1. Swenson Ashtanga Yoga Short Forms: 45' Short Forms

2. Ab Wheel Rollouts: 3s x 10r

3. JS Band Shoulder Traction

Not sure if it was the riding this weekend or the push-ups from last night, but my shoulders are feeling fucked. Especially the left one. No pushing movements for a while, except for the yoga. More pulls and band work too.

Book routine?
YRG Book is still my favorite go to routine.

My base is the 30 minute workout modified by
1. After the get hot sequence (the sun salutations) I do a simple 1 leg balancing series.
2. I use the warrior sequence from the 45 minute routine (reverse twist, etc.)

But a lot of times after a run I will do the straight 20 minute routine or the 30.
"When I was little, my father was famous. He was the greatest samurai in the empire. And he was the Shogun's decapitator. He cut off the heads of a 131 Lords. It was a bad time for the empire."

That sounds good! My plan has been to concentrate on "real" yoga for a while and to get into a good practice, but I really like the YRG for opening up the hips and low back.

I really like the adding in of the 1 leg balancing series. I need to do that.

1. Dr. Craig Aaron's Extreme Yoga for the Warrior Athlete x 30 minutes - Didn't have time for the full hour version. Also, I believe I will start calling this his Power Vinyasa Yoga, which is what it is.
