Nice!

I'm interested in what the bike shop says about your shock.

It's been sent off for overhaul...waiting for it to come back. Been over a week now. Also been raining, so no great loss at the moment.

Today: farmer walks, rows, step ups, swings
Yesterday: cut down and dragged a Xmas tree through a field, on top of the car, around the house, in the backdoor, stood it up. Thing was *heavy*.

Missed some workout logging. Multiple driveway workouts of heavy carry, push & row, step ups, and swings. I do these in the driveway or street outside, it’s been 20 degrees out.

I use my two KBs, 45 and 55 LBs for the carries, step ups, and the 55 for swings and the row. For the carries, I walk a total of 1200 feet to the corner and back, switching hands at midpoint, so 4 x football fields. The grip and traps are what hurt at the end of it, but it’s a full body tension thing.

Added a backpack with a 45 lb bag of salt in it last night. It’s a good pack with a hip belt that puts the weight on the hips, which may make it too easy. Will try it with just the shoulder straps.

Had to get a new shock for my bike, $250, yikes.

Heavy carry, 100 lbs in the hands, and 50 lbs in a backpack, 1200’. I can carry more and go farther. More in the backpack? I feel like I am ready to take a nap following.

Also push up/rows. Got my son to carry 20 lbs and walk with me. Will bring him along.

I practice slacklining in the front yard in between stuff. Almost able to sustain balancing now. Woot.

Heavy carries with the KBs and backpack, snuck it in between rain. Felt good.

One thing is, the backpack leans me forward. I still have body armor from a pop up deployment, might try wearing that. See what it weighs.

Just out walking around. There are fat people who do what I do every second of the day. I can’t imagine being 150 lbs heavier!

Tonight, carries, rows, working on my slacklining, damn I’m starting to get it. Woot!

Two hours of skiing, first day of the year. Stiff conditions but workable. Could feel some rust getting knocked off some unused muscles. Good!

- 5.5 mile hike out and back with the 30 LB pack,
- 530' vertical gain stretched out over the "out" leg,
- 1+50, so 20 minute miles or 3 MPH.
- 1650 KCal

Single track trail with rocky sections. Temps mid-30s, wore light hike pants, t-shirt, long sleeve athletic shirt, and hoodie. Worked out just right.

Picked up the bike, ready to go ride! Need some cold temps to freeze up the mud, it has rained endlessly here.

Went paddling with the kayak at the local lake, about 1.5 hours. Temps low 30s, windy, only person there. Awesome!

Home now, getting ready for Christmas Eve dinner and the oven isn’t working. Major drama! Tools and beer to the rescue.

4 hours of skiing, nice conditions. Back home for Christmas dinner, cooked in the neighbors oven. Oven shopping tomorrow.

Mtbiking today, temps were high 30s to 40, mostly dry. Rode at Allegrippus trails.

Forgot to set the sag on my new shock, so I was pedal striking right and left. Dumb. But still a great day in the woods!

7.36MI MOUNTAIN BIKING
DISTANCE. 7.36mi
DURATION 1:17:51
AVG SPEED 5.7 mph
KCAL. 651
EL GAIN 1000’ in smaller chunks

We are lucky indeed, the rib roast was awesome!

Today, hike/ruck up the local mountain. Used the backpack with 45 LB bag of rock salt. 700’ of vertical in one big chunk, about 3 miles, forgot to time it. Coming down was steeper, and a good workout on its own.

Today, New Year’s Day, farmer walks, push-ups and rows, then swings. Right knee hurts, which is a bummer. Kind of irritated by the bike ride the other day, and maybe the rucking. Sigh...

Farmer walks, push-rows, swings. About 35 degrees outside. Son followed along with 35 lbs of DBs.

Knee feeling better.

Farmer walks and push-up/rows. Then I got my son to join me so did another lap of the farmer walks. Did a suitcase carry, single 55lb kB. Switched hands at the 150 yard turnaround.

Son rucked my 45 lb backpack. He’s a scrawny 110 lbs, so good workout for him.

Farmer walks, the standard 1000’, measured the time to walk at 4:45. Definitely seeing some forearm hypertrophy. Need some heavier weights so I can go shorter distances. Will get 70 kB dB or kB.

Push-ups and rows with 45 lb dB, 20 reps, went easy due to delay in getting on them.

10 x sets of 10 swings with 55 lb kB.

Dragged Christmas tree to the curb.

Snow blowing and snow shoveling 8" of concrete.

Farmer walks wearing slippery fleece gloves with the KBs (it was 14F outside), resulting in mega-forearm pump and having to stop twice to de-inflate them.

Rows/pushups. No swings, as I had to go shovel.

Was going to go skiing, but the conditions were crusty and miserable.

Yesterday, 5 hours skiing. Low 20s, mix of icy and soft blown snow. Fun!
