Back at this. Yesterday, NOTHING

Two days ago, to the park. 200 pushups in 10 laps up to the 2nd bench, about 55' of vertical. 10 pushups at top and bottom each lap.

Today, bike in and out of work.

Farmers walk with 45 and 55 lb kB about 200 yards, swapping hands at 100 yard point.

2 hours of flat water paddle boarding, half into a strong head wind. Then 2 hours of celebrating cinco de mayo at local great Mexican restaurant.

To the park via a hill climb, 150’ of vertical? Then 10 laps and 200 push-ups. Then big hill climb on way back. Training up for 20 mile MTBike race next month.

Yesterday, to the park via hill climb route (150' vertical), then 10 laps up & down the hill. Did 5 burpees at the bottom and 10 pushups at the top, for 50/100 of each. Road straight back at the end (no extra hills).

Yesterday: SUP at the local creek for an hour, paddled upstream until the current won, almost to the second island. Hard paddling going upstream easy coming back. Good workout.

Back to the creek SUP-zing, an hour or so. Flow was much higher due to rain. Did a lap around island in middle of creek, then out into lake with a strong breeze. All good.

Yesterday: bike hill ride, 4 x steep hills back to back for 1000’ vertical. Enjoyed the 1000’ of downhill best of all.

To local small lake to practice kayak rolling (rock solid) then did the short hill training loop on the MTBike. Paved but steep and long.

Edit: this has been the most useful video for nailing my kayak rolling.

Nice 10 mile MTBike ride, single track, 1000’ vertical, serious rocks. Walked a few spots. Cleaned the climb, though.

Then 40 minute SUP session at local lake.

To the park for 10 laps, did just burpees at the bottom because it was still wet out. 5,6,7,8,9,10,9,8,8,8 for a total of 78.

Quick MTBike ride on pavement to do the training hills, 400’ vertical and long, and maybe 200’. Both very steep. Carried the first in the large chain ring. Shifted down on the second. Had gas in the tank at the end.

20 mile bike race on Sunday. See how it goes!

Yesterday: to the park for 10 laps with 8 burpees per lap at the bottom of the hill. Cool weather, but still a sweatfest.

Did not ride in the bike race on Sunday due to absolute monsoon conditions. Not a fan of riding on wet leaves and rock on serious singletrack, but still feel a little like a wimp for wimping out. Will do the route this weekend, but by myself in the forest, which frankly is how I prefer it.

Yesterday: 8 mile MTBike ride on the ridge, mostly singletrack, 700' vert gain in one chunk, then up & down.

Felt strong on the climb, and passed a couple of hike-a-bikers. Cleaned all the normal stuff, not the garden before the kettle trail. Cleaned the kettle descent (been a while!) and the rest. The smooth trail was trashed due to the bike race in the rain the other day, bummer.

Yesterday: to the park for 10 laps with 10 burpees per lap for 100.

Today: MTBike ride to make up for missing last week. About 22 miles, 3000’ climbing. Totally hit the wall on the last climb and rested a bunch of times. Felt the bonk.

Otherwise some nice singletrack on a couple of stout downhills.

SUP on the local lake, with lots of boat wakes to keep it sporty and balancy. Couple of miles paddle for 2hours with a beer break thrown in.
