12 mile MTBike ride, all singletrack. Most seriously rocky. 1200’ elevation gain. Two hours rolling time, 3 hours total. New site, back in the deep remote woods, stopping to enjoy the scenery. Saw no one else.

Temps low 70s and windy, good conditions. Still sweated off 5lbs, with real effort to hydrate.

Paddleboarding for about an hour, then later went for a short bike ride, 750' elevation gain in about 1.5 miles and then turnaround, so very short ride. Max grade was 20%, though.

Some down days while enjoyed the east coast monsoon.

Yesterday, to park for laps and 10x20. Some of the laps were at the upper bench. Find it is better/tougher to sprint to the lower bench.

Today, 25 mile road bike ride, lumpy route, 1600’ total gain in 100’ chunks. Some gravel. Temps in 70s and sunny. Wife was with me and was suffering, so lots of rest stops.

217 at end of ride, first time below 220 in many months. Woot!

11 mile MTBike ride, ridge route, 800’ vertical. Rocky route. Good times!

Signed up for MapMyRide and used the app. Thought there was a woman getting ready to pass me on the climb until I realized it was the app telling me some stuff.

219 at end of ride

Long drive yesterday.

Today: to the park for 10 laps and 200 push-ups. Did 4x10 kB swings with 55 lb back home, to loosen up back.

14 mile road bike ride with 800’ gain in about 8 chunks. Temps in 70s, started to drizzle at end.

I’ve switcched to platform pedals for the road bike as it is just a lot easier for the work commute through town (curbs, places to walk, etc.) and have been doing the long rides with them too. Frankly, I see no reason to go back to clip-ins. Might lose a watt or two, but they just fell comfortable, and the shoes are a million times better for everything else you do in shoes. I hate clopping around in my clip-in shoes.

After some days of rain, to the park. Walked to it, 10 laps, and did a bunch of different movements each lap rather than just push-ups. Bear crawls, crab walks, crawling push-ups, knuckle push-ups, etc.

On business travel for a couple of days. Yesterday, hiked around Quebec City for 8-9 miles.

Today, ran around the Plains of Abraham and did the steps three times, 400 steps per lap. Very popular workout. Neat!

Just wanted to capture these quotes...
Quote:
He is also marathon running’s “philosopher king,” according to Cacciola, distinguishing himself as much with his motivational speaking as he does out on the course. “Kipchoge is the type of person,” writes Cacciola, “who says stuff like: ‘Only the disciplined ones in life are free. If you are undisciplined, you are a slave to your moods and your passions.’ And: ‘It’s not about the legs; it’s about the heart and the mind.’ And: ‘The best time to plant a tree was 25 years ago. The second-best time to plant a tree is today.’”
