Lemony Snickett
So, my daughter and her friend are reading this series and love it. We just watched the movie this past week and it was amazing. Jim Carrey is fantastic and unstereotypical. Meryl Streep is, well, Meryl Streep. That's a compliment. :)
Highly recommend to grownups and kids alike.

The wife and I don't have any kids, and we loved it. I thought the train track scene was particularly well done.
